Excellent campground! Cute little general store, loved the petting zoo, not too far from town and right outside the Rocky Mountain National Park Entrance. We got one of the larger campsites, which had bushes partially surrounding it. Tons of moose sightings in the campground itself - a mother and baby ran right through our campsite! Bathrooms and showers were clean, and there was a porta potty close to our actual campsite that was perfect for kiddie bladders. The activities that start from the resort were a hit - we did the 1 hour trail ride and our friends did the pony rides and ATV ride.

My camping group (“Club Fred”), consisting of 25 people, had a great time at the Winding River Resort from June 23-26, 2022. The Tent and RV sites were excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere and amenities are fun. Our younger campers really enjoyed the petting barnyard, the sand volleyball, and the playground. The trail rides, Chuck Wagon breakfast, and hay rides are a blast. Having Moose and Elk wander through the campground was very spectacular. I highly recommend the Winding River Resort for a great Grand Lake experience.

Absolutely gorgeous. We stayed at Winding River Resort in our 30' camper with full hookups for 8 days and loved it. Large lots, beautiful scenery, the cleanest bathrooms with large private showers (including a large Family bathroom that had a shower large enough to fit a roll in shower chair), and just an overall terrific campsite. Our horseback ride was fantastic and our guide was very informative. After my ride I was able to bring my wheelchair-bound daughter over to meet some of the horses and she enjoyed it. In the evenings we saw elk, moose, and other wildlife, and several times heard coyote in the distance. The camp is right next to the entrance to RMNP and not too far from town. I recommend this resort and would absolutely stay here again.

The staff and setting made this resort a comfortable and beautiful stay for our family. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating at each activity we attended! The Saturday morning Chuck Wagon Breakfast was a hit with all ages in our family! Delicious! Thanks Wes and Crew! It is quite obvious from the on-going maintenance and safety checks to the seasonal decorating and landscaping that the owners and staff take great pride in keeping their resort and campground beautiful and safe! Very much appreciated! This place was obviously surrounded by Grace during the fires of 2020! May it always be!

Has the east Troublesome fire gotten to the campground?

The fire went through that area, but I do not know the exact damage. The housing development adjoining their property had extensive damage. We have to wait for our first responders to assess and report to us.

It is right before the entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park by Grand Lake, Colorado. You may turn left and drive about a mile and they are on your right. They have camp sites and bungalows. Enjoyed it very much and convenient to visit the Park and return to rest.

I noticed on the amenities section it doesn't say if they have a pool does anyone know if they have pools

Honestly the best way to find that out it's call the same day you were heading up there because I went up for 4th of July weekend and 2 days prior they said yes and when I got there for check in they said it changed to no.
