A spectacular, but very difficult hike. Harder that most of the front range 14ers in some ways. Completely worth it though. Great views, the Boulder field is fun, and always mountain goats at the top. Done this one 6-7 times and I will easily be back again.

We stayed at gore trail. So we walked to the trail each day. We only made it up to 11,448 ft. Its starts to get real rocky and narrow. I plan on going back and finishing next time. Beautiful views everywhere you look. On are 3rd day we saw a brown bear ๐Ÿป so cool.

A standard hike for me. When the snow is in, you can go most of the way up the hill with little concern of avalanche! Bring your board or skis and you can glkde all the way out. The burned up section just adds to the allure.

Great starting point for a range of trails. Note that parking is very limited, so avoid busy periods. Hiking in the area in early July 2019 was a little muddy in spots, but much more passable than the still snowy trails at higher altitudes.
