A huge chunk is low lying land that can be pretty muddy and/or slippery. Make sure you wear good shoes. Of course kids also leave trash behind, take an empty sack along and throw it in the trash on your way out for bonus points. :) very pretty in the fall!

A great spot to visit within 30 miles. I could not find this site in the IDNR Natural Areas Inventory (INAI) site. I am not sure if you can conceal carry at Devil's Prop. The site is not listed in the nature preserve directory, nor anywhere on IDNR site.... but it is owned by IDNR as a "state natural area" Legalities of Concealed carry is in question.

Great place so see a variety of fungus.. Found purple blewits and the poisonous look alikes chanterelles Lobsters False tubers.. There's a few minor cliffs a creek and several trails to pick from.. as always please no littering
