Walked not too far to see the hot springs. May have been wrong time of year, not sure. But water wasn't even warm.

Don’t even bother coming here. It stinks & the water is freezing. We drove 2 & a half hrs to get here, then hiked around for about 2hrs trying to find it because there were no signs. Wasted of time & pointless.

Wanted to show what the place currently looks like. The cold water from the river floods it and makes the hot spring unaccessible. Hence i’m rating it 4 just because of the lack of availability throughout the seasons of the year. Also the hot springs are really tiny, so I doubt more than 4 people could fit in at the same time. Good thing there are good backups (Belknap and Cougar hot springs nearby)

This pool is on the river. If the water is to high it will cool the pools. If you go into the cave the water is warmer. I liked this one better then the on at Cougar Lake, since you do not have go down a dirt road with deep potholes and pay $7 to use it.

Bigelow (aka: Deer Creek) is an official clothes optional (co) location. Thank God for that!
No there's no way to turn or back out. The lot is ment for car's. This is not a state maintained road
Been there a few times and going to give an educated prediction. Generally on the cool side on most days. Recent weather has been dry for 4 or 5 days so the river has dropped from higher flows a week ago. I ' m going say warming a bit still remembering very seldom hot.
With the start of the rains comes the rise of the river and therefore the flooding out of the Hot Springs. The springs will not be usable again until sometime in June (give or take a little).
From what I saw when I went there was campsites nearby. Kind of unsanctioned didnt look like there was anywhere to pay just a small camping area. Dispersed camping is allowed in nation and state forests btw.
That is actually a sign holder. The sign was destroyed by flooding. The sign reminded people that the hot springs are closed from sunset to sunrise.
Where you park, it is approximately 200-300 yards. You will cross at least 2 logs, maybe 2-3 feet high.
It is flooded.
Yes. It is. However, nobody is enforcing it.
Great place, we also walked up past signs, because other locals felt it was safe at that time. However later on some embers came over hill and started a spot fire not far from where car was parked. Caution is recommended for sure
I wouldn't take a kid under 7 yrs old. And I would make sure I was teaching them to leave everything how it is. It's a very pristine spot. There is only the pool in the picture and it doesn't ever close. Go when you want to try it. I went after a rain and it was kinda cold unfortunately.
