Serenity at Larkspur

Added one star to my review of last year that cited lack of maintenance and upkeep of our pool area, property and grounds at Serenity. Greystar has really stepped it up over the past 6 months and has been very responsive to resident requests re maintenance, security, amenity, communications and property improvements. Grateful to Kevin, our maintenance director, and to the management team for working hard to return Serenity to pre-COVID condition.

While the community is lovely the property management company is unreliable and unresponsive. I moved out several months ago and the property manager did not move me out correctly in the system so months of "unpaid rent" was sent to collections. While I was able to dispute and prove I paid my rent, it took months for me to get it sorted out. I still have not received my security deposit back and constantly have to hunt down someone to talk to and respond to me because of their constant turnover. Nightmare, not serenity.

The floors are so uneven that my sliding door doesn’t seal. Which leads to mold. Looking at other reviews, that seems to be a recurring issue regardless of the building. Buildings are old with cheap renovations. They’re taking away what used to be free storage. They’re taking away free parking, even the spots that were for guests. We already pay for amenities we can barely use because of covid, and now they’re adding even more charges per month per household. Since Greystar bought Serenity, the quality has gone downhill while prices increase. Rent anywhere but here.
