I really enjoyed my 1st visit after a horrible experience with another dentist. Dr. Michelle (?) is wonderful! She is caring and is very good at what she does. Her office and staff are polite and respectful. I look forward to retuning for my next cleaning. :) Thank you Encino Dentistry!

I went to encino dentistry after not seeing a dentist for more than 10 years. I was nervous about what I was going to here. From the moment I stepped inside everyone maybe me feel so comfortable. They took x-rays and came up with a treatment plan. I'm looking forward to following through with the plan and having a healthy smile once again.

You are not alone, we have many patients that have the same concern. Teeth-grinding habit doesn't automatically mean you'll have dental issues, however, your risk can increase dramatically. Due to its chronic nature, teeth-grinding can lead to excessive tooth wear, dental work damage or jaw joint dysfunction. Our Encino Dentistry dentist may be able to help by creating a custom-made occlusal guard that can reduce biting forces while you're wearing it. You might also minimize teeth-grinding by quitting tobacco and other lifestyle changes, or getting a better handle on stress management.
Dental health varies from person to person, but the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends adult patients visit a dentist once or twice a year even if your mouth is in excellent condition. This enables you to get your teeth cleaned professionally on a regular basis and ensure that any potential problems are identified early. At Encino Dentistry we have two full-time in house hygienist that are able to ensure you always keep your healthy smile.
You can definitely use hand signals for communication during dental procedure. Do not be ashamed. Fear of dental treatment and anxiety about dental procedures are highly prevalent and have an impact on the quality of dental treatment. Encino Dentistry dentists will often explain the hand signals prior to dental procedures to communicate the level of pain.
We respect your busy schedule. We have Saturdays and early morning or evening appointments are available at Encino Dentistry. Please call us to book your next dental appointment.
It is often encouraged for families to have your routine hygiene checkup scheduled back-to-back to avoid multiple visits. Please ensure to schedule in advance as our spots fill up quickly. We have free parking at Encino Dentistry building on Saturdays.
You should have your teeth checked and cleaned at least twice a year, though your dentist or dental hygienist may recommend more frequent visits. Regular dental exams and cleaning visits are essential in preventing dental problems and maintaining the health of your teeth and gums. At these visits, your teeth are cleaned and checked for cavities. Additionally, there are many other things that are checked and monitored to help detect, prevent, and maintain your dental health. We are committed to providing you with the best possible care, and to do so will require regular check-ups and cleanings. For more information on exam and checkup please check our website https://encinodentistry.com/encino-ca-dental-services/professional-teeth-cleaning-and-routine-check-up/ or call our office.
Do not delay urgent or routine care because of COVID-19. Seek immediate care for severe or sudden dental health related events or emergencies. Delaying medical care can be a threat to your health and wellbeing.
Brushing your teeth removes food particles, plaque and bacteria from all tooth surfaces, except in between the teeth. Unfortunately, our toothbrush can’t reach these areas that are highly susceptible to decay and periodontal (gum) disease. Daily flossing is the best way to clean between the teeth and under the gumline. Flossing not only helps clean these spaces, it disrupts plaque colonies from building up, preventing damage to the gums, teeth and bone. Plaque is a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on the teeth. It is a growing colony of living bacteria, food debris, and saliva. The bacteria produce toxins (acids) that cause cavities and irritate and inflame the gums. Also, when plaque is not removed above and below the gumline, it hardens and turns into calculus (tartar). This will further irritate and inflame the gums and also slowly destroy the bone. This is the beginning of periodontal disease
Sensitivity toothpaste, which contains strontium chloride or potassium nitrate are very effective in treating sensitive teeth. After a few weeks of use you may notice a decrease in sensitivity. Highly acidic foods such as oranges, grapefruits and lemons, as well as tea and soda can increase tooth sensitivity, and work against any sensitivity toothpaste. If you do not get relief by brushing gently and using a desensitizing toothpaste, see your dentist. There are special compounds that can be applied in office to the roots of your tooth to reduce—if not eliminate—the sensitivity. High-fluoride containing home care products can also be recommended to help reduce tooth sensitivity. Ask the friendly staff at Encino Dentistry for more information on sensitive teeth.
Your teeth may feel fine, but it’s still important to see a dentist regularly because problems can exist without your knowing. Your smile’s appearance is important, and we can help keep your smile healthy and looking beautiful.
