Highly recommend visiting here! The museum is filled with various interactive exhibits. Nature, water conservation, energy conservation/ consumption, space exploration, engineering, and much more! The Local night sky is a MUST SEE! This place is great for families and kids, a first date (or any date night!) And would make a spectacular field trip! Tickets must be purchased in advance and parking can be tricky/ competitive (so make sure to leave extra time for finding a parking spot).

My 6 year old son had an amazing time here playing and seeing the exhibits and movie about the planets...definitely will be back. Good sized museum so that you can see everything without being exhausted and overwhelmed. Good spot for even toddlers.

Yay! FINALLY a science museum in Sacramento! We had such a great time. It surpassed my expectations. The staff were so kind and informative, the place was really clean and not crowded at all. Masks are required, and the staff (very graciously) will ask you to cover your face if your nose is out or something. Our favorite part was the theater presentation, the staff member who narrated it, was entertaining and full of great information. I had 5 boys ages ranging from 7-14, they all enjoyed it. I'm so glad we have a membership and will be able to see all the new things they add on this year.

The MOSAC (museum of science and curiosity) is an awesome place for all ages, from kids to adults. It will really tap into your curiosity with great exhibits, lots of information, hands on experimentation, and an incredible dome theater with cool shows. Some of the features include a building and play area, an MRI exhibit, wildlife area with insects, reptiles, and a live honeybee nest, a water conservation area with games and interactive displays, a climate change exhibit, space exhibit with rocket launch game and simulated gravity experience, and best of all, the dome theater. The dome theater shows can be booked using a QR code on display around the museum and shows are occurring throughout the day. We saw the show about the solar system which was an incredible spectacle on the giant dome overhead. The kids loved it! There is a parking lot for the museum, it was free the day we went but I did see a meter to pay so it may not be free moving forward. Memberships are available from $60 for individuals to a little over $100 for families. Overall an excellent place to take the family.

As of 1-2-2019 admission is as follows: kids 4-17 years and seniors 60+ are $7, adults 18+ are $8, under 4 years old and members are free.
We are currently doing timed-ticketing, because we have to restrict total capacity in the museum due to COVID, so we strongly recommend that you reserve your spot ahead of time, especially on weekends, so that you're not disappointed. Weekdays are less busy, so walk-ins have better odds. And we are requiring proof of vaccination for adults age 18 and up.
Yes but with opening weekend, the lot gets full quickly... parking is free.
I have an idea how this might have happened. I am a annual member and the price to become an annual member is significantly more than a one-time admission it is worth it in my opinion to support the wonderful museum but it is double if not more of the regular admission price. That may have been the pricing you saw. Just an idea.
I agree, It's mostly geared towards younger children.
The Science Center will be open except for Thanksgiving. Regular admission prices. Just go to the website, Powerhouse Science Center for pricing.
No, the museum has a separate membership from the Crocker.
There are three shows you can watch at no extra charge. 12:30 & 1:30 for the Solar System. 2:30 for the Time Traveler and 3:30 for The Night Sky Above us. You will need to reserve seats ahead of time via phone. The front desk will help you out.
Yes we do -- EV chargers are in parking spaces along the side of the building.
We are now open daily 10 am to 5 pm (members get Early Bird admission at 9 am from Monday through Saturday)/
Late 2021
I believe as long as it's open, there should be two shows. Just to be safe, however, phone the front desk to see.
Yes! It is a great hands-on place. Great for ages 1-100!
Membership ranges from $60-$100 depending on features. https://powerhousesc.org/membership/
Not there but across the way in Downtown Folsom there are a few
