I've been going to Joe's since their previous location. Then, they were excellent. Now it's suprising they're still in business. This is typical of what happens with "absentee" owners. The food prep and customer service is rock bottom...no one to crack the whip to retain what put them on the map...sad. Cold hot dogs, burnt gyros meat, sub standard salads and very over priced. They need a change in management. The trend they're on means they'll out of business in the near future. They are literally promoting other local restaurants. Over the years I've been there many many times but no more. I'm done.

They're hot dogs are good but almost $8 for just 1 with fries! I guess they would rather not have a better priced hot dog and get repeat business.

So my son and I were camping in Union IL and we stopped at Sullivan's. We were going to a different place, and saw Joe's Place was open. It's absolutely delicious. I got the big burger and it was so yummy. We got the twice baked potatoes too...all I can say is we'll be back!

I ordered the ribs and they were excellent! I highly recommend the ribs if you are willing to wait at least 1 HOUR for them. But DON'T COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A BIG PARTY! I came with a wedding party that reserved seats ahead of time. It was chaotic and very poor service. First, we had to wait 20 mins before ordering because the staff couldn't decide on how to take our orders. (AND they were very rude when giving us instructions.) Then when our orders came out, there were glaring issues like my husband's side dish came out 10 mins before his entree. And of course, the aforementioned 1 hour wait time for my order of ribs. One person in our party did not receive what she ordered. Because it was so late and she was hungry, she elected to take an unclaimed dish instead. ("unclaimed" because the staff had no system that indicated who ordered what)
