Clean, affordable, and historic. The Decker hotel has a grand foyer / entryway and a couple of restaurants on site. There is parking along the side of building for overnight guests. The hotel is conveniently located downtown, within walking distance to several dining options for breakfast lunch or dinner.

This place just reopened under new management. Completely redecorated, new menu etc. There were 6 in our group. Everyone enjoyed their food. It was piping hot & very tasty. Only complaint we had was you have to tell the waitress how much you want your tip to be so she can add it to your bill. No printed out receipt, she had to write it out at the table & add the tip if you used a charge card. She was embarrassed as were we for having to do this verbally. That needs to change, she was embarrassed to have to ask & do it that way both.

Food was good. I keep it simple when I order at restaurants, I dont get anything that can easily be messed up. I stick to foods like burgers, simple foods. Ordering stakes and prim rib, can be very risky. For maquoketa it's a nice place to have a few drinks.
