While it is a beautiful setting, it was pretty unbelievable that a truck and horse trailer LEFT the farm in the middle of the actual wedding ceremony! Right during the bride's vows. Don't know who it was, but it was very rude and disruptive.

I had a great time! brought 3 horses and put them on the pasture which was right outside our door! Our cabin was super clean, super cute and a joy to be with friends and enjoy each other.

What an awesome place. Last year was my first year there and have plans scheduled for 2x this year. Fabulous riding, beautiful scenery and great hosts!

Gorgeous place and great hosts. Love the pasture option for horses. Make sure to condition horses as trails are a definite workout and some pretty challenging and strenuous. Some trails are rocky, especially newer ones so boots or shoes might be a good idea. Also not a bad idea to carry some water for horses on long rides as there is no water along trails. Some of the southern Oak Ridge/ Wetbark Recreation State forest trails are closed due to being purchase by private landowners. Current map of Oak Ridge/ Wetbark Recreation area is online on DNR website.

Say I didn't have a horse, would you let me ride one of the camps horses, IF I payed, or would I have to bring my own?

Marley, Hi! Unfortunately we don’t rent out horses. Thank you!

Do they rent out horses to ride or is it brings your own horse

Ellen, We don't rent out horses. Everyone brings their own. Thank you!!

Are the trails pretty well mapped? What kind of footing - shoes needed?

Frieda Bruck | Aug 4, 2018

Frieda, Yes, the trails are very well marked with numbers and letters that are also on a large colored map. Most of the trails are grass or dirt with a few being rocky. If you have a horse with sensitive feet, we recommend shoes. Thank you!
