Brian Plante, ND, you, sir, are awesome!! I mean that sincerely, in every way! Your insightful and intuitive nature, your calm demeanor, your caring and empathic approach, your ability to connect with my daughter and to skillfully communicate so openly and honestly are all truly inspiring. And of course, your tremendous grip on the many and varied treatment options, both mainstream medicine and otherwise, is impressive! We are truly blessed to have you leading her care. Thank you!!!

Unbelievable this place! After giving all of our information to the intake girl, she says if our child can't sit still for 20 -25 mins to get a brain scan, then he will have to get a sedation shot. My response was, how do you give a young child with medical trauma a shot without further causing the child more stress. "Aren't there any other ways to sedate or calm the child?" The young intake girl said "No, this is the only way and this is how the center does it!" I asked if we could put our minds together to come up with some options together?? She said, "Well... you can speak to one of our psychiatrists who will cost $250 for half hour and come up with an option that way!" UNBELIEVABLE horrible UNCOMPASSIONATE place... WRONG place to get brain scans! ALERT!!

I made an appointment for my adult son for an initial appointment and it was an ok experience. The doctor recommended a more in depth evaluation but not a scan for my son’s situation. You would think with the cost of these appointments, we would have gotten some sort of follow up call/email to move forward with the next step of care but nothing. I called several times and left messages and didn’t hear back because it’s hard to get a hold of someone for “existing” patients. Once I finally got a hold of someone, she knew right away who I was and transferred me to the “clinical team” which there was no live person, just another answering machine, so I left another voicemail and once again wait a week with no callback. I finally called again and got through by pressing 1 for being a new patient and got through to someone. She looked up our information and the care she was recommending was completely different from what the doctor had recommended. I think at this point I had a really uneasy feeling about the clinic itself. If I’m having this much trouble getting in contact for a proper follow up appointment, how will the rest of our experience be? I really wanted to get help for my son but this whole experience has been a real let down. It’s hard enough being the caregiver for someone who has mental health issues and then to have a gleam of hope that something can be done, only to be led in circles has been devastating.

I would like to honor Dr. Daniel Emina, psychiatrist with the Amen Clinic, for the excellent care that he has given to my son who was suicidal and suffered from low thyroid and low energy. He no longer is suicidal and is now able to attend school and have some contentment in his life. You truly are a life saver. Kindly, Nancy NK

Save your money. This place is a fraud and they don't help you.
Technically, yes, the doctors would be able to read an MRI. But the specialty of the Amen Clinics is using a SPECT scan (aka Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) to determine blood flow to the brain. Blood flow can help find the origin of seizures, brain injury, or type of ADHD someone might have. The MRI and CT scan detects variations in density. So it all depends on why you want to go to the Amen Clinics. If you are going for ADHD treatment, then an MRI will not be of much use, it will have exposed you to unnecessary radiation, and wasted your money. The doctors I have met are some of the best doctors on the west coast. If you had an MRI and looking for an excellent physician to review it, then yes, they are more than capable to help you.
