Best Western Plus Milwaukee Airport Hotel & Conference Center

this hotel is fairly close to a lot of the major site seeing attractions in Milwaukee, super close to the airport which makes it extremely nice for super early departures! it is about 5-7 minutes from downtown, and about 10-15 minutes from the mall and other shopping attractions!! All of the staff I interacted with were absolutely FANTASTIC. All had good attitudes, were so kind, so helpful, and were absolutely amazing. The staff and their kindness made our stay so wonderful. Please Don't get me wrong this is a safe hotel, but it needs some major renovations. The elevator has been inoperable FOR MONTHS (according to other reviews it's been down for upwards of 6 months) the pool and hot tub floor is cracking and needs a good cleaning. the carpet throughout the hotel needs a good cleaning and or replacement, the hotel room I was in had stains on the floor, sink, shower, tub, toilet, and door that did not come out even with a second cleaning. The walls between rooms are very very thin so you will likely hear the people around you having conversations, watching TV, listening to music, having work meetings, among other activities. I'm not entirely sure how they divide their smoking vs non smoking rooms, but there was a very strong smoke and marijuana smell in the hallways and stairways. the breakfast provided by the hotel was like most others I've had, but you are not allowed to eat in your hotel room. one thing I thought was odd was that the hotel staff required guests to collect their trash and towels each day and put them outside of the door which caused the hallways to be lined with garbage and smell of whatever delivery foods people got the night before. I'm not sure if that's a normal thing to do in Wisconsin, but I found it so odd! The window in or room was leaking horribly and dripping into the AC which was very concerning. The bed in our room was extremely old and definitely needs replacement. it sags in the middle causing everything to roll into the center of it similar to an under inflated air mattress. Overall our stay wasn't terrible, but I won't be staying here again. This hotel needs a lot of work to be up to par with what Best Western as a company stands for. Please don't get me wrong this place is far from being awful but it is also far from being a place I would recommend to others or stay at again.

The room was okay, a little dirty and the shower continuously dripped water. The beds seemed worn, but i slept fine. The staff for the most part was nice. The pool area was super pretty i really enjoyed the real plants. I probably would've picked another hotel to stay at, however. It could've been a lot worse. It was 13-15 minutes away from the Rave/Eagles club, so the Location was fine.

The one start is because I have to give at lease one to leave a review. I stayed at this property with my son 4/30 - 5/2. We have stayed in Best Westerns all over the country & this was the worst stay to date. The 1st room we were given was filthy. Bottle caps, someone's plane ticket, an empty medicine bottle, an Easter egg & other random trash behind the bed, dirty air conditioning unit, the room smelled like smoke that they tried to mask with a scent, & a dirty floor to include cigarette ashes & a burn on the floor. We were given another room that wasn’t much better, the sink stopped up & wouldn’t release, the toilet kept running until you jiggled the handle. It was terrible. We prepaid through Expedia & that is the only reason I decided to stay. I asked Christina at the front desk for fresh towels so we could shower before bed & was told there were no clean towels on the entire hotel. I thought I would just wash the ones we had… nope. The only dryers for guest use are broken. Both nights we had to deal with running in the hallways & people knocking on our door & running away well after midnight. I complained to Expedia & to Best Western about these issues, & was told I would be refunded when the General manager came in at 8am on 5/2/22… only to receive an email today saying my request was denied. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY.

Positive: The pool was great. The lady running breakfast was absolutely wonderful and sweet. She went out of her way to find me a different kind of tea bag when I asked if they had a different kind in back. Negative: They charged my debit card 3 different times totaling over $--- for a one night stay that should have been less than $---. This caused over $150 in overdraft fees on my bank account. No one at the front desk including the manager could tell me why.
