Variety of dishes, sushi, and all were tasty, atmosphere peaceful. The service was excellent. It was a little pricy and no prices are posted. But the final bill was about what I thought it would be.

My wife and I already celebrated Valentine's day because our schedules are rather hectic. It happened to work out that we had a free evening together on the actual day, and a friend had just recommend Kashiwa. We went, it was an event evening for Valentine's day and they had a special fixed menu. Reservations only. We asked about it as we walked in. After some deliberation with the other servers and chefs, they agreed. (Mind you, we weren't expecting to eat out, I was in soiled work clothes). Service was exceptional. The menu was amazing. Every piece went with the next wonderfully. The sashimi melted in your mouth. The meal was capped off with two scoops of ice cream, jello, and a small cup of roasted green tea. A well rounded, well thought out, and delicious dinner. We left with satisfied bellies and taste buds. Thank you!

Very authentic and very good sushi. I sat at the bar and spoke a little Japanese with the two chefs, who seemed to really appreciate my effort, and they were extremely nice. I ordered the Sashimi Omakase and the Live Shrimp for a total around $77. The fish was fresh and was textured exactly how I expected the cuts to be. The Live Shrimp is definitely a unique item I haven't tried before, and is something I recommend to the adventurous eater. You get the bodies (which are freshly slaughtered) on nigiri rolls and the heads are fried completely. I've had sushi places fry fish bones after the dish was completed, before, so this seemed pretty normal. I ate the legs and the backs, but decided to leave the heads since I was sure how I felt about them. I will definitely be back next time I visit Long Beach for work! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
