Very disappointed the food is not as good when they first opened the place up. It has really gone commercialized the food does not have much taste besides everything tasting spice hot when it should not on some of dishes. It was supposed to happy hour all day Saturday which we were charged full price. The refried beans we found a hair in it. Told them about and they only gave us 10.00 dollars off. Most places would have not charged you for the meal that the hair was found in. The prices have gotten higher and they are nickel and diming the customers for everything and they also charge you for using your credit card. High prices for very poor service. We asked for glass of water several times, never received any water. They brought our food out and we had to ask them for silverware and when we asked for the silverware they looked at on why do we need silverware. On Friday nights they use to have the El Mariachi band. I am sorry they have really gone down hill.

We placed our order and 15-20 minutes later our server came over and told us the kitchen staff is fighting and they are refusing to make our meal. He said there wasn't anything he could do. He said it might have been because it was 7:50pm at that point and they don't get paid past 8pm. I asked if this happens often (as we are new to town) and he shrugged his shoulders. I have never had this happen to me before. So, we headed over to the Sportsman's pub and had dinner :).

The dinner was very good, but when we received our bill we had two extra charges. And 18% tip was add and a $2.87 charge was also added. Our $49 bill was now $61. When I went to check out, then they added a 3% charge for using debit card, our final bill was $63.45!!! I Said something when checking out about the extra charges and was thrown $2.00 dollars from the cash register!! As good as there food was, we will not be back!!! I choose my tip and as a customer I feel this was very sneaky and deceiving and the cashier was rude about throwing $2.00 back at me! “ Shouldn’t bite the hands that feed ya, might come back to bite ya”

I ordered food at El Mariachi when I spent a night in Lake Mills; it did not disappoint. Not only did we get awesome food (5 de Mayo burrito and Pollo El Mariachi) but we also got to-go margaritas which were very good. Although I didn't dine-in, I picked up the food and the location looked very nice and clean.
