Went for a golf trip. Rooms have not been updated in 30 years except they have flat screen TVs. But we don't go for the rooms. The golf course is not too bad. Sand traps are awful so either don't hit them in the beach or agree on rules to before the match. Great Day at Devil's Head!

This is a weird review to write. I am a new snowboarder so I’m unsure what’s typical but my experience a few weeks ago with the staff at rentals left me wanting to quit the sport. I went with 3 of my friends, one is a very experienced rider, the other a beginner like myself. Both of my friends are white and I’m black. I was unsure if I wanted to snowboard or just chill at the bar so I didn’t reserve rentals neither did my other beginner friend. He bought his lift ticket and then paid for rentals and received his equipment no problem. I decide that I am going to snowboard so I head to rentals and ask them if I can get rentals and the two young men look at each other and ask if I have a reservation. I say no. And they continue that I need a reservation for rentals….even tho my white male friend was given rentals with out one. So I ask them if they have rentals available and they shrug. I decide at this point to go to the ticket window and buy my lift ticket and ask if they have rentals Available they do so I purchase and head back to the desk. I go back to the rental desk and show them my lift ticket and tell them I just purchased rentals at the desk and they again ask for my reservation I didn’t have one but had just spent money on rentals. They refused to give me any. I returned to the ticket window and explain to him what’s happening and he seems shocked. I’m given a receipt and return to the rentals, and still wasn’t given equipment, because I hadn’t filled out a waiver… I was never given one. Basically over an hour of me back and forth trying to figure out what they wanted from me. It doesn’t seem like normal business practice when my friend walked right up to rentals and was simple asked what size boot he needed. I understand that snowboarding/skiing isn’t a very diverse sport. My experienced snowboard friend is always talking about how chill and friendly everyone at the mountain is. I snowboarded for maybe 30mins before I stopped because I couldn’t stop crying. The experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. Maybe the staff are welcoming of all and just need better training but whatever it was I did not feel welcome there.

Its an excellent place to go because of the overall ski resort experience. The onsitlte cheapest lodge rooms are dated but have everything you need. And for the price it's a win! The resort sits on some of the most beautiful land in Wisconsin and the ski runs flow through it all. Definitely worth getting a weekend out there and just have true fun!

The runs are great but lifts are super slow. Lodge and Inn have not been updated since it was built in 1970 but they are clean. Its nice to have somewhere to go on ski breaks throughout the day and its inexpensive. Glacier Bay Condos are much nicer if available but there are only a handful of them so book early. They are located a short drive or walk across the parking lot.

I'm guessing that they probably do but do the hotel rooms have a hair dryer? My fiance is inquiring if she should bring one.

Our room did, but it was really crummy so if space isn't an issue I would pack one.

When is Mtb season opening, do you have rental and lifts available?

Stevan P | Aug 3, 2018
Scott Bell | Aug 4, 2018

I'm pretty sure it depends on the weather and when temps get cold enough to sustain snow. Yes, there are rentals available in season, as well as several chair lifts with the number running depending on the runs that are open that given day.
