This little hardware store might be small in size or in actual square footage but, don't let that deter you from considering shopping here because this Ace Hardware Store is packed full of goodies. They have the best picks for each aisle or section. I can't think of a time, where I left empty handed. I even left my wallet inside the store, one time & when I went there the following day, they had kept it safe for me & I had no problems retrieving it from them. That tells me that the employee's are honest, not to mention, very helpful & always willing to take the time to answer any questions that I may have & to point me in the right direction. So, the thing that attracts me the most about it, is of course, the convinient location. It's in Rose Garden and right on the Alameda. It's the only hardware store in the area, making it easy to get too, for people living in the Rose Garden, Burbank and Downtown Area's of San Jose. I feel like the prices might be a little bit higher then at Home Depot, on average but don't hold me to that & even if I'm correct, it's a very minor difference and as I mentioned earlier, they have quality products in their store, so I feel like it's a fair trade off for being so easy to get too, for great service & a great selection. In Summary, I recommend shopping here, especially if your local or even if you just want a break from Home Depot. Oh & I almost forgot to mention another great thing about my shopping experience at this Ace; there has never been many people shopping in the store, which means you get more help, better service and best of all, no long check out lines to stand in. I was declined for a refund with the paint that were moldy and smelly. The store manager haven't even look at the paint nor properly checked the date i bought and told me it's over the return period (it was within 30 days). The Trade Practices Act 1974 states that if goods do not meet a statutory condition - free of defects, it is a breach of the contract between buyer and seller. When this happens, consumers are entitled for refunds. There were more than two employees telling me it's their policy. I don't know how they were trained but if it's their policy to find an excuse and deceive customer to not take an defective item back i should be suing the corporate Ace.

Fantastic service. We came in to buy wrench because a nipple was stuck on pipe. But they helped us take out the nipple and made some great suggestions about gas pipeline that we wanted to fix. Definitely visit this if you are working with propane burners etc.

The store was empty there's plenty of stuff I asked where the torches were I was pointed to the back when I walked all the way to the back I found them locked up it would have been helpful if the staff member had followed me back and unlocked them rather then make me go all the way back up to the front and asking her to unlock them
