SO LOUD. The location is very nice, with rolling hills and greenery. The staff also was so nice, can't say enough about them. Bathrooms clean and camp sites orderly. However, only come here if you want to listen to 4 different music being blasted all evening from neighbouring campsites. If that's your idea of camping, you'll love it. If you prefer being able to listen to... Well, anything but super loud music - and God forbid you want to get up early to travel on or get in an early hike -- then avoid this site like the plague. We've been traveling around camp sites in California/Nevada and never encountered anything like it. Can't recommend unfortunately. Perhaps they could designate some of the loops "no music" for those of us who are camping to get away, not join a disco?

Sparse, clean and quiet. Great high desert camping. Most spaces have flat parking for a van, truck camper or small trailer. Most spaces are pretty level. There are also a few semi-circular pull-through spaces suitable for small trailers with no unhooking from the tow vehicle. Very little shade so bring your own. It's always windy too. Stop as you check in and figure out the wind direction so you can pick a spot in the lee of the hills. Restrooms are clean with flush toilets and running cold water. No showers. None of the sites have hookups so it's dry camping only. I did not see any water spigots except the sinks in the restrooms. Location is right off I-5 and only about 70 miles or less from downtown L. A. Mid-April 2022 there were only about 4 other campers in the entire campground. From our site we could not see or hear the highway about a mile away. Though desolate, I would definitely stay here again when visiting L. A.

Nice desert park for car camping. No hikes nearby. Just the lake. Swimming isn't open until May. Boats for rent. The camp is very well maintained, but there's nothing to do but fish or sit around the fire. Parking at the lake is $12, even when there's no swimming. The parking lot at the lake is very confusing with one-way arrows crossing each other...

There aren't public showers. However the hosts have one set up by their rv that you can use for a small fee. They also have a little "store' with essentials for reasonable prices including all important COLD ICE!
You just have to arrive and pay at the booth you cannot reserve
I believe so, you can find more info on the website but not for swimming just for fishing and BBQ
I really sorry but is not open for the moment and I don't know when will available for swimming again
They have a number but my reservations did it online
Hi Laura. The lake itself is about a 7 minute drive. There is some shade. I booked Loop One, camp site 2 and 4 had shade. Fyi, if you want to book camp sites next to each other you need to book 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. Counter intuitive.
The place has been maybe 2 percent filled everytime ive gone. GAURENTEE you'll get a tent site
Try Yelp you'll fine the office contact rep. Hope this helps.
We stayed there this October and there was lots of free sites. Just go in and check in with the campsite host. I'm sure there will be a spot for you
Yes think $20.00 a night
Pets should be on leashes and its better for peace of mind ,if you have all their shots especially bordatella if you are around other dogs .. all I know is that pets should be on leashes. They didnt ask for any vaccinations papers but I always bring it with me every time I travel with my dog Boats should be dry so not to contaminate the lake if you came from another lake But I'm not sure about the water updates in the lake .. last time I heard that it has that green algae but for sure give them a call on what's the update on that
No gate or access restrictions.
I did not see anything like that when I was there but I'm sure the bathrooms would do. They are big.
Yes
Yes the do we were there this weekend.
Nope but I been camping there and haven't see any bear around
Yes, it's a short drive, but you can
Nope
We were there March 5th. Campfires is all good to have. They have bundles of wood there to buy also for $7 a bundle.
Yes of course the camp site is separate from the Lake. The lake opens at 6 you just have to pay 12$
Yes that shouldn't be a issue, lots of space and they will accommodate you if any problems should come up like some sites are narrow so you can ask the hosts before heading in. they are very friendly..they could move you if they have have to to an opening on a falter site. Hopefully all goes well.👍
Unfortunately not but you can fishing
The alcohol beverages, I wil not recommend due to the apreciation of the natural forest but ,yes you can drink your 1 beer or to as of much
If they never send you a confirmation of cancelation your reservation still open
They all have fire rings. But the grills on them aren't very good. We brought grill covers to use.
Some have a bit of shade but I would recommend bringing a canopy !
The host sell wood there it cost 7$ for s mall bundle about 7-8 small logs .

Can we sleep over
Yea it's open..but no more snow
There is a 5th wheel trailer with the rangers that live in it. You have to check in with them to get a parking pass and a camp spot pass. You can reserve a spot if you want. Or find a spot when you get there. First come first serve
7 it's ok to register
You don't have to check in just when the ranger comes show them the reservation paper or email
Hi Sara Jansson. Dean Johnson here. Yes there is difficulties with reception but not every site ive noticed on the Eastern sites ive been able to connect. I went last weekend. The campground is far from the lake. Not sure if you can go camp near the lake, didnt find any campsites there.
