They helped me overcome my addiction and worked with me at my own pace. My daughter has been thriving at Harmony Place. Almost immediately after arriving, she started working with her therapist on underlying trauma that contributes to addiction. She describes the other women in the program as being serious and committed to recovery, and as a result, she is fully engaged in the program. Staff is also drawing from her strengths and interests in an effort to help her carve a path after treatment. She is talking about hopes and dreams again, something I haven't heard in almost a year. Yes, we do take insurance. At Harmony Place, we accept most insurances including but not limited to Anthem, MultiPlan, Blue California, Aetna, HMC HealthWorks, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Beacon Health, and Humana. You should bring a legal ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport) and a credit card or other form of payment to cover any insurance copays. Also bring your insurance card and contact information for friends, family and anyone else you want to keep in touch while in treatment. You should also bring a list of prescribed medications you take and the doses you require. Make sure to bring enough medication that will last you for a few days. In addition, you may bring pajamas, casual and gym clothes, sturdy shoes, toiletries that don’t contain alcohol, and a small amount of cash for personal expenditures.
Diagnosing mental illness can be difficult. This is because a person can have more than one, that presents similar symptoms. At Harmony Place, we utilize the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). With this, a comprehensive psychological evaluation is performed, which gives mental health specialists a detailed report of an individual’s medical history, and experienced observations of their behavior, attitudes, and actions. Then, an accurate diagnosis can be made along with a comprehensive treatment plan.
There are many different signs that could indicate the presence of an addiction. If you find that you can’t control how much you drink or you have had multiple legal issues because of your drinking, you may be suffering from alcoholism. If you are using illicit drugs or prescription drugs recreationally, you should seek help soon as that possible.
