Definitely worth making a special trip to visit the Festival of Lights. As other reviewers have mentioned, this year there weren’t as many lights, decorations, vendors and street performers as previous years but I still had an amazing time strolling around. -Free street parking after 5 pm. -The lights and decorations will be up till January 6th 2022.

To see Christmas lights and decorations, Mission Inn is the place to be. Every year the Inn has the most elaborate Christmas decorations in town. Many people like myself drive a long distance to come to enjoy the decorations here at the Inn. This year is no exception despite the pandemic. The Inn has put up one of the beat light shows. However, you can only enjoy these decorations outside of the hotel. Next to the hotel, there is this long court yard walking corridor that is decorated with more colorful lights along with a spectacular lighted Christmas tree. It's not easy to keep up with the cheerful Christmas spirit amidst the horrendous year of ravaged by the virus. Getting here is easy. Just drive on freeway 10 East and exit on mission Inn road. Parkings is on the street next to Mission Inn.

This castle-like hotel is lit by 5 million lights! The display goes all the way around the hotel. One side has huge sparkling palm trees, with white swans. In every balcony there are animated carolers. They are neat, but rather creepy. The next side has huge presents, and giant white and blue trees. The hotel is completely covered in white lights with a floor to roof menorah. At the end of the corner is a gigantic red bow. The next side is where the shops start. The streets around the hotel are all decorated, and the shops are open late for visitors. There are sparkling Cinderella horse-drawn carriages, and booths with lots of Christmas treats. The restaurants here are busy but delicious. The final side is where you enter the main lights exhibition. There are candy cane palms, giant decorated trees, and the whole facade is covered in white lights. A precious display of bears with presents awaits you above an archway. Glowing Christmas balls hang from trees, bougainvillea are lit with tiny lights, and at the end you travel down a glowing white tunnel. Don’t think the journey is over! Keep walking the streets. It is decorated to the hills. There are performers, and fun booths. Explore the shops, eat lots of food! I went at 5:00 pm, and it was busy but fine. By 7:00 pm it was madness! Arrive early so you can stay a while and enjoy it without the crowds. I highly recommend this, it is a must see holiday experience!
