One of the best springs for a family in Florida, its super open and the primitive campgrounds are great. The paved paths in the campgrounds make it great for riding bikes around and there is tons of nature to spot during the day and at night. Highly reccomend bringing goggles to view the spring and maybe pick up some shells while you're out there. Be aware that this is in the middle of a forest and there are many a different creatures out and about, we had a baby coral snake cruise through our campsite in the middle of the day so don't put your guard down!

Alexander Springs is one of my favorite in the area. The facilities are older but nice. It's busy on the weekends, but there is a fair amount of room. Bring your snorkeling gear so you can check out the boil up close. An inner tube or float is also recommended. There is a concession stand, but you can bring your own food, there are picnic tables. There are shelters with picnic tables but I believe you have to rent those. Also, be prepared it is$11 per person + tax at this time.

We had so much fun at Alexander Springs. We even took our special needs son on a canoe ride. The park is beautiful and clean and the water is crystal clear. It's definitely a great way to make memories with family and friends.

Campground was extremely clean. Staff was super nice. We went on a weekend and still didn't feel like there were too many people so kudos to the staff for not letting it get overcrowded. The trail boardwalk is closed. But I know that's outside their control. All in all great camping experience. Highly recommend

No electric at any site in Alexander springs. It's still my favorite campground though! November/December is a great time of year for camping there because it's cooler. Only spring in the forest with electric is salt springs. You can bring a generator, but have to cut it off at 10pm.
Yes best to be there early if you want a good spot & a grill
What are you asking?
Not allowed. Forest order 08-05-05/02-13-0207 explicitly forbids animals other than trained service animals in the day use areas.
They will even loan you a little dolly to roll it down to the launch ramp, if you need it.
