It's a nice place to go walk. You can see lots of birds, turtles, alligators, and some snakes. I've even seen otters there.

We come here often to enjoy a quiet walk. So much wildlife, plenty of benches along the path, and a lookout tower. Great for runners looking for a flat, grass path without roots. There is NO shade so plan accordingly! Bathrooms are not bad and definitely better than a port-o-potty. Not a ton of parking but we’ve never had an issue. Bring your camera and binoculars and watch out for gators lurking on the edges!!

What a hidden gem we stumbled upon today in Lake Woodruff National Park! We explored walking trails and rode our bikes around the impoundments and out to the St John's River. Saw many different bird species, spotted an alligator, tortoise and Great Blue Heron all within 20' of each other. The "wings" installment (one of five Wings of the West) was a fun and added bonus.

I'm sure there must be local guides nearby since there are local services including air boat and pontoon tours plus rentals along St. Johns River. Also Check with nearby Highbanks Fish Camp along Dead River that feeds into Lake Woodruff.
