Visited Kate's Pancake House on Sunday morning in Carolina Beach and boy was it busy. There was a line and a wait time period of 20 to 30 minutes which I'm glad we did because it was worth it. Ordered very berry pancakes with turkey links. Flavorful pancakes with blue berries and strawberries and whip cream on top. Tasted and smelt very much like homemade pancakes. Pleasant customer service took our orders as soon as we were seated, delivered the food right after did not have to wait much. Would definitely visit it again when I visit Carolina Beach.

I was greeted by Kate herself and then guided to an available table. The waitstaff here are happy hustlers, and the patrons are a mix of townsfolk and vacationers. The Greek Omelette was perfect. I chose the breakfast potatoes over the grits being from New Hampshire and all. Grits are Southern. I have nothing against them, I just prefer potatoes! The omelette also comes with toast or Kate’s pancakes. I choose pancakes. From my post up front, directly behind the checkin/checkout stand, I witnessed the staff working fluidly to guide patrons to freshly wiped off tables. It was jammin’ and the reason is twofold; the staff’s excellence and the good food.

I went in between breakfast and lunch. I ordered a crab sandwich. It had no sauce or condiment on it and at first I was concerned but I decided to try it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised I took the bun off and just placed it on top of my side salad with the ranch and enjoyed my lunch. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. There was a nice adult couple in the booth next to me, coloring. I Iiked seeing that.

We're happy that we stumbled upon this nice place. The pumpkin pancakes in particular were great, and the woman who waited on us was really friendly and efficient. Since the parking around town is overpriced, the fact that they have their own parking is another perk.

Masks required unless seated at your table. We have plexi glass around booths and tables.
No the close at 1pm
No reservations, but go early and avoid huge lines. Excellent breakfast spot.
They had some egg/meat options that are GF and really good. When I was there they had a pork tenderloin and scrambled egg option that was GF. No bread products are Gf, and they don't have dedicated kitchen space.
They are definitely still open and still excellent! Just ate there Friday. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. I think they close around 2pm daily, but they are now open year round.
Yes they are
