Well today I was very disappointed there was no attendant at the gas station to support with the machine telling me to see cashier. Also I drove from No Hollywood to go to the gym and sauna, and the gym is closed on Saturdays.

Well manicured, professional looking and one of the best looking bases where I have been stationed

Nice little base with a commissary and small BX which retirees need. However, the base pharmacy is poorly managed and claim COVID19 is the excuse for manpower shortage so prescriptions are often not filled on time or at all. Recommend the base commander investigate this matter before the media ect. find a reason to examine the entitled benefits due to retirees and others.

The BX is not the biggest but sufficient for what you are looking for. The commissary has everything you are looking for in groceries. The gym is excellent has all you need for physical fitness. If you complain about retirees using it, I hope you never get to retire. If you need the Pharmacy, bring sleeping bag because it takes forever to get medication. Overall it’s excellent.

If you want to walk in I recommend you get into the ID card center when they open at 730 so you're not waiting all day. Apointments take priority for active duty and usually they are fully booked up so the walk ins are taken on a first come first serve basis.
So how is it
There is no long term parking allowed probably because of people not wanting to pay LAX parking fees. Busy AFB so vehicles parked for long periods of times will raise questions andor suspicion and will probably get removed/towed.
No. Not for personnel.
Reccomended
Yes. Typically, the price beats local stations off base. However, if you have a Costco membership, the local Costco on Rosecrans may be a little cheaper.
Yes. ITT is located in the BX. You can check out their hours and a price list if you Google LAAFB ITT.
There is no hospital,only a clinic .
No fam camp. They took it away many years ago.Seal beach naval weapons station has a fam camp....
No dining facility but South Bay Bar and Grill is open most days in bldg 271 (I think)
No, although I have seen a few, Army doesn't have a priority on LA AFB
No.
No there isn't
No, never seen one on base.
They ask for everyone’s ID when driving onto military bases
I'm a spouse of a Veteran, and my Military ID was already expired,, and I can't get on to the Rapids online to make for an appointment to renew my Military ID. Can I do walk-in at the USAF El Segundo LA , so that I can renew my Military ID very soon.
Can a UD army officer stay on base
Yes but it's appointment only. Make sure to bring all supporting documents to make it an easy process.
No, only Space Force and Air Force.
No
No there is dispensary treating active duty personnel only and a pharmacy poorly managed for active and retired military. They claim COVID19 is the reason they are short of staff and it appears to be an excuse to discourage retired military from using there entitled benefit. I recommend the base commander investigate this matter before the media does.
Yes, in the exchange.
Commissary is open Tuesday thru Sunday. It's only closed on Mondays. And yes I work on this Base...
If you have an ID that will get you on base, you can contact Security Forces and let them know that you will have a guest coming in, or you can meet that person at the gate and escort them on.
No there is not. Closest Military Hospital would be Naval Hospital Camp Pendelton about an hour drive south on the 405 then the 5 south depending on traffic also. Port Hueneme has one too but don't know much about it or where it is on base but about the same distance but North on the 405 to the 101 north get off at Oxnard exit
Yes appointment only access to base you need your VA Card or your Military ID or retired type any adults with you in your vehicle must have a picture I.D.
Yes but ask the Gate Guard for permission to get the low down on where you can and cannot
Both are good and they are good people there too. I would call first there appointments are 30 to 40 days out due to personnel and amount of work
Yes there is a Legal office there on the base
Lodging is down at Fort MacArthur, about an hour drive south from the main base at El Segundo, accounting for traffic.
Pricing for discount tickets through the base can be found: https://www.lafss.com/itt/
There is a pharmacy on Los Angeles AFB. It is located in the 61st Medical Squadron clinic near the main gate.
East side bldg 271 south end of covered parking. East side of bldg 272 north end of covered parking
There is a visitors center right infront of the base, before the gate off douglas street when you go in. I've seen rideshares drop off people and they can go on base from there.
