An incredible hike, with truly something for everyone in the family. For the fitness enthusiast, the climbs will test you. For those wanting amazing views, they are amazing. For those wanting to scrabble over rocks, you are well taken care of. A long 6 miles, as it takes way over 3hrs to do the loop, given the terrain in the mountains. The paths in and out are quick.

Great hike! The full badlands trail itself is a fun and challenging 5 mile loop. If that's too daunting though the area right beside the parking lot is great section for all skill levels!

Many trails, stick to the trail markers. Unfortunately, some people with poor judgement marked parts of the trail with spray paint. Disappointing. Parts can be very sandy. Other parts, there are big rocks to climb, and tighter spaces to navigate through. Not a tough hike(but that's subjective). Great views along the way. There's the 5 mile loop, and shorter routes to choose from.

Yes, regular mountain bikes are allowed. Motorized vehicles are not.
Yes, dogs are allowed. Please make sure to keep them on a leash and pick up after your furry friends to ensure this doesn't change. There're no trash cans on the trail, so you will have to carry out your pet's waste bag.
There is a small parking lot right there with room for about 20 cars, but when that fills up cars are able to park on the streets right beside the lot.
There is no lost and found, unless someone turns it into Indio PD, otherwise you need to hope someone finds your message, I walk my dog out there. So I'll try to look around and hopefully find it for you...
