I hike these trail segments about 3 or 4 times a week. Visitor Center parking lot at the trailhead re-opened recently.

A Well maintained trail. Great views. Fun way to enjoy this part of the Coachella valley. We saw Bob white quail, other birds and lizards. Free access. Sunny, no shade or water after the visitors center so prepare accordingly. Bathrooms, maps and souvenirs at visitors center

This is a nice short walk along an easy loop trail. You can get a paper guide to follow along with the numbered stops along the way. The trail begins in the parking lot at the visitor center. It's marked with a large slab of sandstone (see photo), you can't miss it. I recommend taking the stairs up over the ridge and walking up through the wash on the first leg. I really enjoyed this part of the walk. Once you get out follow arrows that direct you to the right. You will now ascend slightly and circle around to a viewpoint at the top. There are "keep out" signs in the bighorn sheep protected area. The trail returns back down the hillside and eventually loops back to the wash. I suggest you walk a little further and take the trail along the top of the wash to change up the scenery a bit. Eventually you will meet back up at the parking lot. This is a great place to take little kids and non-hikers for a casual mosey in the desert.
