Our technician, Manuel Q, was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and an all around nice guy. We would recommend him and Sears Appliance Repair without hesitation.

The week of Feb 21, my landlord scheduled a washer/dryer maintenance. Waited the 4 hour window just for a no-show because they "couldn't find it in system," despite us having text messages from the system that it had been scheduled. This time, I rescheduled for Feb 28. The washer was repaired, tech told us to have the vent cleaned before finishing the dryer maintenance, so the dryer vent cleaning was scheduled through Sears as well. Upon calling the scheduling department, I was quoted a price by scheduling department of $150 + $11 charge if the vent was over 8ft. So I'm thinking $161 in total, right? But no, this was incorrect. It is $150 FOR EVERY 8 FEET, plus and $11 charge for "fuel," for a total of over $460 for my vent. Found this out before the tech began working once he arrived. I could not afford $461, and had to pay $69 just to cancel that appointment, despite it being Sears' scheduling department's fault for not knowing their pricing or how to properly explain pricing. The tech did absolutely no work btw, just measured my vent and gave me the correct price. We had to pay $69 just because he actually did show up, when the appointment would never have been scheduled in the first place had I been given the correct pricing. We chose to go with another company for the vent cleaning, and that went smoothly. (Probably because it wasn't Sears.) Scheduled to complete the dryer maintenance on March 11 4-8pm. No show yet again, this time the rescheduled and gave no explanation as to why the tech couldn't make it out. Rescheduled March 15, 10am-2pm. The tech showed up at 8:45am. No phone call about arriving early, was not contacted upon arrival either. So he just left of course. Rescheduled AGAIN for March 17, 8-10am. This time I decided to call at 7am to make sure that somebody was actually scheduled before I waited another 4 hours, and of course, "no appointment found," despite once again having a text message confirmation from Sears. So, altogether, that is 3 appointments made with either a no-show, or showed up over an hour early without us ever being contacted. Out of the now 5 appointments scheduled OVER 1 MONTH only 1 of them has gone smoothly and as expected. I would recommend going anywhere but here at this point. The scheduling department clearly doesn't have it together and doesn't seem to care that they waste your time and money whatsoever. In fact they won't hold themselves accountable/responsible and will proceed to charge you full price for all their "hard work." 0/5 stars if I could, will not be purchasing from Sears in the future.

DON'T BE DUPED LIKE WE WERE! No matter what they put in writing, you have to pay the $99.00 "diagnostic fee"! When we contracted for the service, the technician specifically wrote that the diagnostic fee would be $99.00 and would be "applied toward the completed repair". This is not the case. We had the Sears service repairman complete the work and then were charged for parts, labor AND the $99.00 diagnostic fee. When we brought up the fact that the diagnostic fee was to be applied toward his work he said that the diagnostic fee is always charged. When we called the Sears Service department, we were told (after numerous conversations) that we were "misinformed"!!! And that yes the $99.00 diagnostic fee is always charged. I would have given a rating of 1 star but for the fact that the service repairman was excellent and did the necessary repairs that fixed the problem.

I am very pleased to have this new warranty service with Sears instead of a stand alone home warranty company. I have always trusted the guys who have come out to work on my appliances, and this service call was no exception. My washer was fixed on the second visit after the part arrived at my place. Chris was very professional and had given me a temporary fix so I could get some laundry done while waiting for his return. He has obviously been doing washers for a while and knew how to temporarily fix the part to work a little longer. I had a Microwave guy come at the same time to fix my micro/convection oven at the same time. Both guys did more than they needed to do, the other guy replaced a hard to reach light bulb for the cavity area in, worked quickly and finished their items about the same time. I really appreciate their polite and professional service. I am happy to have sears doing the work, as their Kenmore by Whirlpool products have always stood the test of time and endurance for me.
