I'd come here for several years until a few years ago a man who I believe is the owner had asked me if I wanted to try a tamale for free. I took a few bites & asked for 1 to purchase. Went to pay for all my items & I noticed he charged me for the "Free" tamale. I said "you accidentally charged me for the free tamale" he said " It was only free if I didn't like it" I felt this was wrong & stopped shopping here. I returned a few days ago to give them another shot & although things are expensive right now the prices were absolutely ridiculous. There are no signs or prices on anything so just be aware. I will say though the tortillas, chips, salsa ect are very good.

Best tamales ever. It cooked perfectly honestly this is tamales is better than gorndan rasmeys burger in Las Vegas this place is azing there food is homemade and absolutely delicious

Great customer service. My 1st time going there today, was hunting for masa for tamales. Since I'm still a newbie to the El Cajon area I had to do a search for Mexican grocery stores near me. They have fresh tortillas, ready to buy tamales galore! And all kinds of other Mexican items you may not be able to find at your typical grocery store. Can't wait to see how these tamales turn out!

Opens at 10am, not 7 am. This is a new schedule. We come here to get the masa, and other necessary ingredients for making tamales. You can also find some good salsas here. We’ve been coming here for years, they always have what we need. When I’m here I make sure to grab a variety of candy and ice cream, it’s always a treat.
