Don't let the ease of scheduling lure you into using OVERPRICED locksmith services! I needed my apartment door (Dutch door/2 sections/top and bottom/same key) opened. Despite asking the locksmith dispatched by KeyMe to open the top door so I could reach in and open the bottom door, he worked on the bottom lock first. The bottom door cannot be opened independent of the top door (but top can be opened independently which I told him.) He then used his lock picking tool to open the top lock. The total process took 5 minutes at most. He then proceeded to tell me that he had to charge for each lock at $180/lock!!!!! What a rip off. He didn't listen to my instructions to open the top lock first, and also damaged that lock when he did open it. Buyer beware. GET A PRICE QUOTE AND DETAILS FIRST!!! Or, just find an independent locksmith who won't price gouge you.

I expected to pay extra for the service, $8.99 wasn't bad however, I should not have to pay another .99 to smooth out the key. So the key "works" but with difficulty.

I called KeyMe to have them cut off a padlock on my storage locker in my garage. I was told it would cost between $25 to $200 to perform and that the worker who was coming out would give me an estimate once he assessed the situation. I would be under no obligation, so long as I paid the consult fee of $29. When he arrived, he immediately told me it would cost $200. I told him that was too much, as another place had quoted me $150, so he said he would do it for $180. I agreed. When he said he was done, I noticed that all I had left was a blank door; he didn’t reapply the lock latch. I asked him to please put it back on- it wasn’t until later that I realized that he put it back on with the latch cut open and the whole thing attached with 1 out of 4 screws! So, it’s basically useless and he failed to actually cut off the lock. When it was time to pay, I asked him if they took a credit card or check. He said they prefer Venmo (???) I’ve never heard of a company doing that and I told him I wasn’t comfortable with paying him that way. He proceeded to try to convince me to pay him via his personal Venmo account because “ we were practically friends”. Meanwhile, I called the company and they told me that they do not accept payments that way and I should ONLY pay via credit card, debit, check or cash. When I got off the phone, the guy told me it was just an option- he NEVER said that I had to pay him that way...when he took my credit card, what a surprise, the price went down to $150! Probably because that was what he should have charged me in the first place! I’ve left two messages with customer service since he left this morning and have yet to receive a call back. I am thoroughly disappointed in the unprofessionalism displayed by the individual that came to my home and if he is any representation of the company as a whole; they need to do some serious looking into the people that they hire. I sincerely hope that customer service responds to my complaints. I would not recommend this business. ***Its been 3 days since my service and complaint filing and I have yet to receive a call or email from KeyMe or their 3rd party partner that that was hired to perform the service. I have spoken with agents at both locations who have given me assurances that a manager will call me within 24 hours and it has yet to happen. I have now had to file a dispute through my credit card company to stop the charge for the ‘service’ he didn’t provide. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I doubt their legitimacy based on their response to this issue as a whole.

INCREDIBLY OVERPRICED LOCKOUT SERVICES - GO ELSEWHERE. Had a recent lockout of an apartment complex. After calling several places I got the general idea of how much it should cost and called this place via the number on their website and chose them because they were close. No price was discussed but I assumed it would be within reason of every other estimate. The tech arrived and was able to get 1 out of 2 locks open. We ended up getting access through an open window that allowed us to bypass the second lock. While I appreciate the tech coming out late on a Saturday I almost did a coffee spit take when he wrote up the bill - it was nearly three times what the estimates were from the other companies. This was incredibly overpriced for the 30 minutes of work it took and more importantly was not disclosed up front. I do not recommend using this company at all for lock out services. They are way overpriced for the work needed. Go elsewhere.
