Cocoa's Authentic Jamaican Jerk

Ordered food today for dinner. Very disappointed. Just moved to Charlotte and was very excited when I saw this Jamaican Restaurant. Tried the beef patty and enjoyed so I decided to return to try other foods. Ordered their Jerk Ribs and Jerk Chicken both served with rice and peas and steamed vegetables. No exaggeration, everything was overly SALT and the meats smell and taste spoiled. The rice was under cooked. Normally I would drive back and let a Restaurant know and possibly change for something else but while waiting for the food I saw a sign that says no refund so I didnt bother going back. I will definitely go back for Patties but I dont think I will be trying anything else. Too expensive to be gambling with my money this way.

Very nice people and customer friendly. Nice little vibe & they have a bar. I ordered the brown stew chicken with cabbage. I believe that the stew chicken is smoked somewhere in their process, because the flavor burst that I was expecting with brown stew, I didn’t get. The texture & taste definitely seemed a little smoky.

The ladies there were wonderful and super nice. We ordered oxtails, curry goat, and ackee and salt fish, potato salad and greens. The ackee and salt fish was really good. The other stuff was just okay.

The owner Cocoa came out! She was absolutely delightful! She offered us samples of curry goat, chicken and jerk chicken! All very good! We went with something smaller but will sure to be back during a dinner meal… family business and all are friendly! Atmosphere is very cool too!
