Our wedding experience was very unique due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2020, my husband and I got married at Old Lystra in an intimate wedding ceremony. A year later, we would finally have our wedding celebration with all our friends and family together. During those two years, we were able to get to know Beth & Tony, and quickly discovered what genuine and caring people they were. From being so flexible with rescheduling multiple times because of gathering restrictions, giving us fair pricing when booking, being available to help answer any questions or concerns we had, to making our special day(s) personalized right down to the very last detail. Throughout our entire experience with Beth & Tony, they treated us like family and helped in any possible way they could. For instance, on our wedding day, we wanted to live stream our event so our friends and family members could watch from home. Beth & Tony went as far as helping setup the computer and figuring out all the connections and wiring in order to make it work. They even stood by during the ceremony to monitor the live stream and ensure it continued working. NO OTHER venue would have gone above and beyond the way Beth & Tony did! My husband and I are forever grateful for our experience with them and for their gracious hospitality. For any future couples searching for the perfect place to get married, Old Lystra will not disappoint! We promise you'll get more love, happiness, and priceless memories than you could ever bargain for!

This is the most beautiful place for a wedding. From the moment my husband and I stayed at the Inn in 2018, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married. Beth and Tony are so sweet and easy going which made it ideal for us to plan the wedding. On the wedding day they work behind the scenes to ensure every detail is handled with perfection. Our wedding party had full use of many suites within the Inn on our special day to relax and get ready. If you are looking for sweet simple elegance on your wedding day, the Old Lystra Inn is the perfect place to create your dream wedding with memories that will last a life time.

Our wedding on 9/21/19 at Old Lystra Inn exceeded all expectations we could have possibly had for our big day. The owners- Tony and Beth are phenomenal! Even their sweet daughter offered to help a ton. Beth's right hand (wo)man was amazing, she seriously was like a day of coordinator. She communicated with me all day to ease any worries I might have had. She even fanned me to cool me off while we were doing first touch pictures, Ha! This venue is the most beautiful I've seen. The price point is right in line (almost slightly cheaper) with most venues in the area. However, you get SO MUCH with Old Lystra. For the rehearsal, they allowed us to drop everything off and opened their doors to us. I opted to pay a small fee to allow my 4 bridesmaids and myself to spend the night prior to the wedding day. It was the best decision ever! We woke up in the venue, showered, had a nice home cooked breakfast, and then made our way to the sun room for hair and makeup. ZERO stress! There were so many people behind the scenes working hard to make our big day perfect, it was so amazing to watch. Beth and Tony are so very accommodating! The venue speaks for itself, it is absolutely stunning! I would hands down recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding.

I could not speak more highly of the Old Lystra Inn. This venue far exceeded our expectations and truly made our wedding day unforgettable. The property consists of a beautiful historic home located just minutes from downtown Chapel Hill. We had guests from all over the world who loved the selection of hotels nearby. The home is perfectly decorated and impeccably clean. And the outdoor landscape is just as classic and timeless as the home itself. What really set this venue apart is the family who owns it. The Pendola family is professional, personable, and truly treated us like family. They were consistently available to answer any questions by phone or email and hosted us for tea and coffee on multiple occasions to help us prepare. Another thing that sets the Old Lystra Inn apart is the ability to choose all of your own vendors. We loved being able to choose the caterer, DJ, etc. So many other venues restrict you to a list of very expensive vendors. In addition, amenities that normally costs thousands of dollars (tent, chairs, linens, etc) were all included. As many brides anxiously anticipate the weather on their wedding day, I was hoping and praying for clear skies. I never thought I would say it, but I love that it poured rain on our wedding day. The ceremony and reception inside the tent was elegant and simply stunning. And the photos taken outdoors with umbrellas are my absolute favorite. Rain or shine, this venue is incredibly romantic and captivating. Looking back, we would not change a single aspect of this venue and highly recommend it without a single reservation.
