Lori Felt (Mimsy)
We adopted a puppy and couldn’t be happier. The facilities are clean, the animals are clean, and the staff was very helpful.
roial
staff was incredibly rude, left me very confused about the adopting/viewing process. chaotic aura. tried to ask one of the workers questions and she was flat out ignoring me and other people who just want to adopt their animals.
Michelle
Adopted a handsome husky/German mix. Hope he loves his new home!
Kim De Lor
I got a beautiful kitty. They were very nice. Only $80.00 for a kitty/cat to rescue that need good homes. "Tux" my kitty has made my home his new one. He is such a loving kitty and plays fetch. 😀😸❤

Bring photos of your dog and proof of ownership. Microchip information anything linking you to your pet. There will be a fee to reclaim.
That dog was given to the group Carl in ventura. If still interested call or text and can trace it down. It was a female part terrier or yorkie?
Good question deserves an hood answer not enough room?
The renewal is incomplete until animal services has a copy of the rabies vaccine certificate, not the vet receipt of payment for the vaccine. The certificate lets staff know the the vaccine and lot number of the vaccine given. Vets offices do not send your copies to animal services since they are not a part of the county body. Also your license will only be valid until your 1st rabies exp. Date. So the 1st rabies vaccine is good for 1 yr. The 2nd etc. Etc. Will be good for 3 yrs. Of which u must pay for a license every year.
I see volunteers walking the dogs and play with the cats. You will need to submit a request to volunteer and once accepted they will train you. Go to the office if your heart is for volunteering.
Look on the shelter's website. Make an appointment to see a dog and adopt one.
Hi there, we just adopted last week and there were many rabbits available for adoption and they did have some birds that were brought in (unknown what type), so you may want to call and find out what they do with birds. The staff and volunteers there are super awesome! Hope this helps! Cheers!
5:30 is when they stop adoption shows
Please know that pets need regular veterinary visits along with various vaccinations, quality food, litter, toys, etc. A pet is a lifetime investment that will require a financial investment.
13 to 15 yr olds can volunteer and work ALONGSIDE their volunteer parent or guardian. Ages 16 and 17 can volunteer and work ON-SITE with their volunteer parent or guardian.
Everyday from 11am til 1pm I just called myself.
Only to animals that need one and are being reclaimed. The shelter does not do vacations for personal pets. They do vaccine clinics once a month all over the county though. You can look them up on their website.
Ventura County Animal Services makes every effort to work with pet owners who just need a little help. But surrending your pet to the shelter or an affiliated rescue is always an option. Vcas tries to be as No-Kill as possible. Come in to talk over your options!
Nuetered / spay , licenese, micrchip, free vet visit of vet of your choice amd a furry best friend
You should be able too. They have the Bunny Brigade there in Camarillo and the rabbit might be chipped.
Yes they do.
You'll need to call the shelter and ask
Either pet can be surrendered to be adopted. There is a location in Ojai, Camarillo or maybe Santa Paula that you can called to verify what is required. Next Door is a local app that might be helpful to list the dog for placement. Each person on the app has to verify that they actually live in the area to be allowed to participate.
You can take it to the animal shelter in Camarillo
Depends. They can be anywhere from $20 to $100. If you have proof that your pet is fixed, it's on the lower end.
Check the website...all adoptable animals are updated in real time
1st: Go to their website, there's a link for "found". VCAS holds unclaimed animals for 5 days, whether it's at their facility or Foster Care to make room for more incoming animals. 2nd: Try the app "Nextdoor". It's very helpful and concentrated on your local area, not every country.
They are opened but by appointment only. Call them to schedule 😊
https://www.vcas.us/dogs/
Yes by appointment only unless they let you on the day that you call them.
Bring the cat in today and they will do it if its determined necessary, bring vet records if you have them
Here is the volunteer info and application on the shelter website. http://www.vcas.us/help-the-animals
I don't remember him being on their list. They do a good job of keeping their website up to date.
It means animals found dead obviously. Most of the time they mean roadkill but it's not always that case.
I looked into the website and couldn't find any Casper. It's hard to know if you meant a dog or a cat or other animal. Maybe describe what they look like?
Yes. She's at the Camarillo animal shelter in kennel #096. Her online ID is Meet Spice ANIMAL ID: A715427 Here is a link http://www.vcas.us/details-page?pageview=detail&searchbar=no&pagenav=&shelter=&type=Dog&gender=&size=&petid=A715427
Call them and describe the dog or go on their website and browse through the pictures to see if they have a specific dog you're looking for. Otherwise, that's too vague of a question to accurately answer.
Call the shelter directly
I would check on their website. I can only confirm they have yorkie mixed dogs
They should be picky about food!
I would call the office asap because unless your dog has a microchip they will try to get your dog into a new home. Otherwise if he's neutered, has had his rabies shot and etc it could cost as low as 40 dollars plus 15 to insert a microchip if he doesn't have one already. Also, it's import to bring proof of ownership. They might challenge your attempt to reclaim if your dog doesn't have a microchip with the information to use as back up.
I've been there a few times and there isn't a very large selection of puppies. However, there are a lot of young dogs between ages 1-4 years old that are in need of a home.
Best to look on the website.
No
No, I am not aware.
They're taking her as they were her original owners and breeders. They know her and her breed.
Oxnard has their own animal control. Complaints would have to be filed with them and not Ventura County Animal Services unless it's in an unincorporated area of Oxnard
$90 adoption fee for any dog not including license. Licence is usually $20 depending on the city you live in.
Yes
Once they're nested , you're not allowed to remove the nest or the birds. Once they're no longer there you can take the nests down.
No. The shelter rarely gets horses in and usually when it does they either escaped or some emergency happened and there was no place for it to go on short notice. Most horses are picked up by their owner or go to rescue. Typically horses don't stay long enough to go up for adoption on the rare occasions they are there.
If animal is adopted from shelter a voucher is given. Appointment has to be made within 72 hours.
Yes
You can always check on the website or the app.
I think they posted it on their Facebook page
Not yet. Lots of people visited her but no one took her home.
I went last week they still had her but I’m not sure
Possibly. If the animal was licenced, chipped (and registered) or you have thorough description of the dog.
The VCAS volunteer program will be reopening on Feb 1. Please visit our website for the volunteer application and online orientation starting Feb 1. vcas.us/volunteer
If my dog does not appear, my question is how do I notice if he is serrated so that he does not pay for his lisensia?
The VCAS has an excellent Web site with a picture of every animal up for adoption. You can search by the animals ID number. They remove the pictures of adopted animals within 30 min.
Check the website for available dogs. If hes available the kennels open at 1pm
Contact http://www.facebook.com/dachshundrelief
That animal is currently in a foster home I believe. I would recommend coming into the shelter directly so they can contact the foster parent directly. The foster parent can either bring the dog back to the shelter so you can meet her or arrange a meeting with her. If everything goes well and the foster parent/ staff member approves, you will be able to adopt her. She will have to stay untill her spay surgery, then she can be picked up. Hope this helps.
Yes he is but he has some behaviour issues. He will need time to get use to any and all new people.
The Camarillo shelter will always accept stray cats.
Kittens will usually come with food
Check the website for all animals currently available: www.vcas.us/adopt. Birds are listed under the category "Other". Thanks for adopting!
30$if your dog is currently licensed or 65 $ if it's not licensed. (Delievered to main shelter by owner)
Best to call or check the website.
They can be brought in after hours until midnight. Ring the doorbell. The earliest the better to the open hours though
Yes, but you will need a parent or guardian to volunteer with you until you are 18. Please check the vcas.us website at the end of August, beginning of September for the next volunteer orientation and volunteer application.
Give them a call as they often offer special pricing at certain times each month
No, you need a parent/guardian to accompany you until you are 18. The parent/guardian will need to attend the volunteer orientation and come with you to the shelter when you volunteer.
Yes, A688434
Summer Promo, $5 Feline Fridays, any kitten/cat over 4 months is $5, not including license (if applicable).
No they were being watched by a friend and she didnt tell me they got loose till now
Yes, but you need to have a parent/guardian with you
Yes, they take owner surrender hens.
You need to ask the office people, who will help you.
That's not fair. I think they take things very seriously. At least as much as a Spaniel can.
I would say no not just anyone should be watching just anyone four legged friends because if it was me first of all I would need to know just about everything about who is going to be watching over my friends.!! Because I had to learn the hard way I had someone to watch over my boy and without 48hrs come to hear my best friend was shot and killed just because they was to so called be watching over him .!! So now I'm without my dog and best friend now and out of $9k but the $$$ isn't everything it's the life and our friend ship and I just couldn't take him with me on a new job training out of state. If I was you I would really think about it really good.
If you both love the dog I don't see why you both put each other name on the dog
Just show up any time the kennels are listed as open and you can look all around at the available dogs. They will say on the info sheet when they are avaliable. The prices vary depending on what you will adopt and if there are any events or something going on. You can check at the front office for pricing, to ask to meet with a dog and the complete process.
Nope I wish I could rent a good looking wife
No it don't cost anything
No, but you can check on line. Ir'sno kill, so don't worry. My dog was picked up and they took good care of her. You can call in a.m. and ask, but I would go there.
You can go to the website and apply online. You should then get an email telling you when your orientation day/ time is.
The animals available changes as they come and go, of course, but VCAS accepts pretty much all animals. Horses, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, iguanas, lizards, turtles, hamsters, bunnies. The website may not have accurate info on the exotics, so it's best to stop in.
As much as it can be. Shelters that claim to be 100% no-kill, claim that figure only because they will refuse intake of sick and injured animals, pitbull terriers and other dogs deemed "aggressive". VCAS works tirelessly with multiple rescue groups, fosters, and volunteers to place pets, even the sick and ugly ones. Lol. Animals with painful, incurable injuries and illnesses, and extreme psychological stress do become candidates for euthanasia after all other options are exhausted.
