Not a lot of restaurants will go so far out of there Way to accommodate my strict diet. Vicky literally went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and fed well. I am a huge critic and don’t give compliments often about restaurants. This restaurant definitely made me feel at home and earns this good review.

My friend came from Charlotte to have lunch, so I took her to try 1841 as I hadn’t had a chance to try it since moving to Lenoir. It’s super easy to find, just look for the straw umbrellas out front. Parking at the front is on Main Street, as one could expect in a small city downtown. We were helped right away, and our server was very informative and quick, as well as friendly. They are in the middle of a menu change- so she let us know what they didn’t have and provided a list of those items as well. That was the only inconvenient part of our visit. Food was delicious. I tried the grilled cheese and their famous Tucker’s Barn soup (tomato basil). She also informed us they make all soups in house-Big plus for me! My friend had the chicken salad croissant and a salad. Their salads are pretty big and she said tasted great. She was so full she had to take all but a bite of her sandwich home. But she enjoyed all of her food too. Would recommend to others looking for good American food at a cool little downtown spot.

My husband and I come here often. We love the food and the staff, everyone is always so friendly and happy to see you. The atmosphere is unbeatable! We can’t wait for the buffalo chicken dip to come back, it’s our favorite.

What a great place and so damn friendly! I was eating dinner last night and just drinks tonight, the menu is suffering due to the economy but still delivered. The beer was cold and must say while I work I feel like I can stop here every day without issue. Having never been to Lenior before this was a good find. I recommend.
