Tonight we brought friends from Columbia County down to Pottsville to make a long awaited trial of the Lodge at Sharp Mountain. I had seen mixed reviews of the place but wanted to try it out. We arrive and find two tables occupied on a Saturday night. (should’ve been a sign). The four of us were seated and it took twenty minutes for the waitress to even take our drink order and there was only two other tables and three waitresses standing around. Our drink order finally got taken and we asked if we could place our order. We ordered seafood nachos which came out wrong, hardly any cheese and cold. We also ordered seafood bisque which also came out cold, looked like jelly and was $7 for half a bowl. At this point, we had to ask again for our drinks to which the waitress said “the bartender is just standing there, she could’ve brought them over” and rolled her eyes. By now, we’re the ONLY table in the place. Finally, our filets arrived at the table. I’ve eaten steaks all across the country and this was the WORST steak I’ve ever had. It was small, cold and it smelled and tasted like it was cooked over an electrical fire. I’ve honestly never tasted anything so awful. We ordered a second round of alcoholic drinks but the waitress never brought them. A woman dressed in black who appeared to be a manger of sorts spoke with an elderly couple behind us but never stopped at our table to ask how things were. The elderly male told us their food was cold and not very tasty. The waitress also never asked how our meal was, not even when giving us our checks! The best part of our meal was the French Fries which were frozen fries. The place has so much potential and it’s sad. I worked there when I was in high school when it was the Pottsville Club and the place was great. This place has nothing going right. The food was terrible and the service was worse. For this place to have 4.1 stars tells me that lots of people are lying. Unfortunately it’s a once and done for the Lodge at Sharp Mountain unless things change drastically. Very disappointed. The only reason I gave it one star is because zero stars wasn’t an option.

Horrible experience. It was freezing. They bring catered food in for our banquet and let it sit soothe food was bad too.

Food was excellent, service very good and friendly, reasonable prices for an upper scale dining establishment. Quaint ski lodge atmosphere.

No, I won't be hosting a New Year's Eve party. However, check with The Lodge at Sharp Mtn about their party plans.
