We stay in a cabin in February and enjoy the views and trails. Not a lot going on that time of the year, but it's a great alternative to spending money at a restaurant on valentine.

One of my three favorite walking trails around SML. The woodsy walking packed sand/soil walking trails are easy to navigate. There are some roots and rocks to contend with and very slight changes in elevation. The trail follows the lake, and my favorite views are from the peninsula. During the summer you can pay to swim at the beach. There are also a playground, bathrooms, and several shelters and picnic tables throughout the park. Dogs are welcome on a leash, and there are several sandy beaches for them to play. There is also a fishing pier and a launch for kayaks and canoes. The whole trail walk took me about forty-five minutes today.

Pets are not allowed on the beach. However, the park itself is pet friendly.
The weekend is the only time it approaches capacity.

There are no discounts given. The fee is $2 per person. Ages 3 and under are free.
You can walk your dog at the park if it is on a leash. However, dogs are not allowed on the beach.
