For 3 weeks Easy Street Shoe repair had my shoes (2 pairs) and no communication from him. I called during business hours and no one answered. I went to get my shoes and they were only half way finished, then he told me it would be $80 (resoled and heels)for them. I didn't even pay that for them at DSW.. I told him to keep them and walked out. He then dropped the price which was still too much and he still has them. I bought new ones for less then what he was charging. He is a crook, unethical and unprofessional.

Absolute genius! The only place I would trust for shoe repair - they do an amazing job - your shoes look better than brand-new by the time they are done working on them. We have been customers for the past 10 years or so and most recently had one pair of men's shoes completely resoled and a pair of women's leather shoes restitched, elastic and heels replaced. They did an awesome job, as usual! Well worth it when you have a nice pair of shoes that you want to keep wearing for many years.

I've been using Easy Street shoe repair for a number of years now. Gabriel knows what he is doing. His pricing is fair and he's able to explain before the repair what needs to be done. I recently brought him my favorite Florshiem shoes that were probably 15 years old. The soles had become unglued. He explained that because the leather of the shoe upper itself was in very good shape it would be worth it to fix them. He said it would be a little bit of a pricy repair ($109) but he would totally resole the shoe with a Vibram sole, replace the insole and stitch it all back together. The results? This shoe will last me another 20 years. It's a super robust repair, was done VERY professionally, and it looks totally original (or perhaps better) and he polished them as well. An extremely impressive bit of craftsmanship. Make the drive north to see Gabriel, it will be worth it!

I used to go there for several years and saw reviews about RUDE treatment and shoddy work and pretty much chalked it up to cultural differences etc UNTIL I was victimized by the owner myself. The particulars of my personal story really aren't all that important (I've already vented) but just check Yelp etc if you need details-there are plenty there. The point is there are plenty of good shoe repair places a little further south in town and save yourself the grief-these people just aren't worth it.
