California waste solutions is supposed to pickup the items listed on the san jose website for junk removal. They will schedule the appointment and then leave a number of items that San Jose allows. If you call the customer service line, they will be rude, condescending and make excuses. They do not provide a solution. I recommend to never use them if at all possible.

I had a service concern and reported it to Calwaste. They took into consideration all the facts. Came today to address my concern. Very prompt response and professional approach to the situation. Special thanks to the young man that came out to take care of the problem.

Overall has gotten better in the past year. So that's a plus. The customer service experience could still use a little work still. When I relay emails I don't feel like I'm interacting with a person. Oh well. Still appreciative of the junk pick ups.

The Worst Customer Service! I called several times because they had missed my Recycle bin pick up. 24 hours later, still no pick up. Called back and got "Kim" who was rude. I asked for her supervisor. " He is not here" so I left a vmail with my number. NO CALL BACK. Disgraceful. I had paid extra for a large item pick up(small fridge, bar stool and Patio umbrella. Put it out curbside last night. Still not picked up at 3pm. The service sucks and don't even try to reach the management - they seem to be MIA. SJ City should revoke their contract for lousy service.

Take them to Home Depot or Lowes, there is usually a place to recycle your CFLs near the front entrance.
That would be considered a bulky item. You could call and set up a pick up with, other items and they will set the date with you , On when they pick up
Yes they take used motor oil but they must be in city containers, if you don't have them you can call and they will deliver for free then you put them out on your garbage and recycle day. About the florescent bulbs when you can they can tell you what you can do with them
The city is checking all bin for contamination this will be a regular thing. You would have to call the city for this question. they are trying to get a hold of this problem, all driver are notified which house not to pick up through there GPS systems on there trucks. So it's just better to keep your recycling clean
