We stayed 4 nights @ Lost Dutchman State Park, Apache Jct , about 30 miles east of The Phoenix area. It got rave reviews from others and we agree. The suburbs do come up to the edge of the park in some places but that’s not a huge negative. You do need to make your camping reservation well in advance. Only a few sites have electric but many campers, including ourselves have solar panels which stayed charged in the bright AZ sun. The 5 days of our visit, daytime temps were in the low 90’s even in March . So plan to hike early in the day, even starting before sunrise, especially for Siphon Draw, the most popular hike in the park. Tonto National forest borders the Superstition Wilderness area so there are additional hiking, biking , horseback riding options just outside Lost Dutchman State Park

Our favorite hiking Arizona State Park. ... its a little bit difficult. But it was perfect. It takes an 1 or 2 hours going back and forth with lots of water break or pictures stop. Entrance fee per vehicle is $10. We have fun. ...

Amazing experience with the family! We hiked trail number 56 it was about a 2 hour hike in total. I would recommend some good hiking shoes and plenty of water. Only complaint would be to those people who think throwing their trash off to the side of the trails is a good idea. Please pick up after yourself and stop being lazy. If you bring it in, you should leave with it. It's that simple people.

Beautiful state park with hiking for all levels, from beginner to very challenging. Lots of parking, picnic spots, really clean and nice bathrooms, and just stunningly beautiful.

u need reservation most times or take chance might be put in overflow for $20 a night no hookups 4 ft apart
Yup Lots of dogs out there. Our dogs love it!
Yes there is there's a 4-mile loop around the campgrounds
Absolutely call in advance, by 4pm to get a spot, or if you can't be there until after hours there's envelopes to the right of the office fill out the front take your tab put the envelope in the dropbox that's to the right of the envelopes and see them in the am. They come around first thing in the morning.
Cell service is available, but wifi is not. The rv campgrounds potentially might have power for RV 's but the picnic areas do not.
