Watch out for Ricardo Salas in code enforcement, this employee is a snake in the grass. This department is negligible and works against its own communities needs and complaints. Don’t expect to get any help whatsoever for your self or your neighborhood.

I was very impressed with the customer service. I had some trouble with the website getting the correct forms for my permit, but Mr. Wong was very helpful. Even the lobby security was helpful. I was supposed to pick my permit at 3pm I got there around 2pm and he went out of his way to help me get them sooner. Great Department..

I have found the Planning and Building Department in Oakland to be extremely helpful and responsive. Maurice Hackett and Tiffany Mao were both an absolute pleasure to work with. Building Inspector Keith Pacheco was patient, responsive, and knowledgable. I've only spoken over the phone with Julia Bell in the cashier's office but she was just as helpful as the rest of her team. My company looks forward to more projects in Oakland.

Entire building at 250 Frank Ogawa Plaza is CLOSED
You will have to reach out to your power/electric provider. They will let you know what needs to be done.
Good luck with that.
The city does not get involved in property disputes. You would need a surveyor but your neighbor may not want to share the cost. Try to find mediation ahead of going fully legal.
They are closed.
Anything over 6ft you need a premit
Yes, zoning approval and a building permit.
This is a question for the building department at 250 frank ogawa plaza, 2nd floor.
I would recommend you don't bother with the permits. The inspectors are here really don't know what they're doing anyway. You're better off hiring a private inspector if you're concerned that your contractor will not do the proper job
What's the address? Look it up by the parcel number. Go to Alameda County Parcel Viewer GIS website
You can look up the Official property maps. But get accurate location on the ground you'll need to get a surveyor. Fence can be 8 feet high without design review
Check your zoning map of you prepared for you ton incompetence fro. The building officials. Know what's permitted and you'll need to put it on some drawings as a proposal and get your answers in writing as they will change depending on building official is mood in who you get
No. But remember in Oakland the rule is it's always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission
