Went for passport renewal around 3 pm on a Tuesday. The woman at the desk was so helpful and congenial. I spent the last two days at the DMV, SSA and today at the federal passport office and was so relieved to find the service here personable and pleasant. Thank you for a restorative experience in government services.

I would give this post zero stars if it weren't for the speedy process, not service, but process. Let me enumerate the number of ways how this facility needs proper training in customer relations: 1. We came in, signed in in the iPad. An attendant called us to the window but we made a mistake of filling up the paper so we we're instructed to fill out a new one and to sign back in to the iPad and go back to window right after. And so we did only to tell us that we should get a confrontation text that we should come up to the window. 2. We were standing in line, no one was acknowledging us to tell us what is going on and so I asked my husband to sign in again. At that point one of the agents opened her window and rudely told us to stop signing in and that to wait for them to call us. Well it's something that they should've said in the first place since she noticed that we kept on signing. So my husband told her that we're given the wrong info and the agent said, that that is a student assisting and that they are the agents. What a joke, how are we supposed to know? 3. After everything was done, not even a thank you or a good night. Wow. just wow. I will go to a different facility the next time.

I went to the UC Berkeley passport office and had a pleasant experience the staff were very helpful. I need a fresh application and a good place near by to get money order the lady gave me the application and told me to go to the post office it was only a few blocks away. I went to a near by cafe after obtaining my money order and filled it out. (Note) have everything you need before you check-in 1. Application 2. Identification 3. Birth certificate 4. Money order 5. Passport photos The check in process is super easy. When you walk in the building there are windows on the right walk just pass them and there is an iPad just around the corner put your first name in and phone number and just kick back. I waited no more that 15 min before I was called. It took more time to walk to the post office and find a cafe to chill and fill the application out at. I can say the staff were very personable and I had a great experience I almost didn’t go after reading some of the other reviews. This place should get 10 stars Come prepared and I’m sure you will no issues

Highly recommend this passport facility! It's inside the UC Berkeley rec center so you might think it's for students only, but it's open to the public. You sign in via iPad and receive a text when it's your turn. There is a little waiting area next to a cafe so you can comfortably sit and wait, but in our case we waited fewer than five minutes. The person who helped us was so nice and efficient--we were finished with our passport application in fewer than 10 minutes after walking in the door. Lots of metered parking right outside, too. Five stars!

No. Don't ask for help from anyone online. best place to get help is through travel.state.gov. search for stolen passport. There's A form to fill out, then mail or you can call their toll free number (also on their page).
