I been in a few dmv locations but Oakland has been the rudest, slower service you’ll ever have but if you get there before 4 pm because is the last call since they close at 5 pm they try to get all the ppl out and they’re surprisingly super fast when it comes to give you service.

I had an appointment for a RealID. It was a rainy Monday morning. There was a lot of waiting. One clerk was covering three stations. I had taken the test and paid online prior to my appointment. I was done and out the door in one hour. Not ideal.

I had a appointment so my date with DMV went quite smoothly. I think being their @ 8:30am made a difference as far as the crowd is concerned. And alot of different services is offered online. I have a class "A" so I needed to bring original (copy of my birth certificate, 1 piece of mail, $49, and take picture, and your thumb print. Around 2 hours

The Coliseum location does have appointments available but I wasn't able to make one. I went during the middle of the week and both lines were extremely short. Either or. I don't believe there's a law when it comes to gifting. But if if it's at a used car dealer...then it's the dealership responsibility. ..so if you don't wish to deal with it; decline. Usually i find that the only reason people give away their cars is that they know something is wrong with it. Unless its a sincere friend/relative.

Try to go to El Cerito DMV. It's a lot faster there
It really depends on what you need to do. Car checks are quick. But if it is for you, with an appointment which is easy to get online, there's almost no waiting.
