Well I'm staying there cuz it's a waiting place for ppl getting into new housing. CBI operates it. They have gone above and beyond any expectations I had. Connecting me with affordable housing and having me stay here while I wait for my apartment to be inspected. The staff here and at CBI are the best at being professional and helping those less fortunate. They saved my life. I love them all.

I was helping a friend find a place to stay for a couple of nights and get off the streets. We came across the surestay and found it was full. However ,after talking to a city counselor who worked there, I came to discover that this is is one of the sites in Phoenix that helps house the homeless at during the hotter months of the year. Good to know..

The hotel is a lot nicer than a majority of the other hotels on Van Buren but be aware that the surrounding area is not a place you would allow your wife and kids to stay at without some form of personal protection such as mace/pepper-spray at the very least and possibly even a small firearm. Phoenix AZ has a high number of mentally unstable individuals that for the most part are harmless but its definitely not worth the risk. Always be prepared to defend you and your loved ones. Arizona is a stand your ground state meaning you can protect yourself lawfully if you feel your life is threatened. Know you laws and protect your rights. This hotel is for the individual who at least looks like they can defend themselves but if you have the money id find something closer to downtown or even as far as Tempe.

The good - Budget-friendly, Comfortable bed, Great location, Decent breakfast (nothing fancy but works), the patio area to enjoy sunshine, overall cleanliness. The bad - not a lot but the front desk staff/owners could serve better and with a smile. Housekeeping staff missed a few things to replenish. The ugly - the noise due to nearby construction which starts around the evening. Unbearable during the late hours. If you’re a light sleeper, this hotel might not be for you. Also, the room windows on the ground floor don’t offer the possibility of having sunlight along with some privacy. You gotta choose one.
