Absolutely Horrible! One of the worst experiences of my life. The ER dept. was totally understaffed. I spent 12 plus hours with little or no assistance, when admitted. I wandered the ER hallway looking for help for my pain. Patients were stacked up in the corridors. A man was screaming obscenities at 2 am in the ER. The hospital decided to conduct a Fire drill at 1 am , not cool for everyone in the ER. There was only 1 Doctor and 2 nurses on duty. I will never go to Portsmouth ER ever again, Worst medical treatment in my life!

I live 30 mins away and went to Portsmouth ER because my daughter (1st responder) told me it was the best Er in the area. The ER staff was nice except for the doctor, very cold and instead of asking me about my illness, he was more concerned on why I was there and why didn’t I go elsewhere, I felt like I was bothering him by being there. He was very cold and rude and I’m shocked he workers there with the amazing staff that work there, maybe he would be better suited for working in Morgue where no one bothers him and matches his cold personality!

I’ve had two surgeries here prior and just left today with my third. The nurses and aides here are fantastic, I came here just to say this. They are so personable and charismatic. I hate having to do this stuff and they’ve always made me so comfortable. And Thank you to all staff for all the hard work you do❤️

This is my first time using Portsmouth Regional for a procedure that required an anesthesia. I have had things done at other hospitals in the past. I have to say that from the moment I got there, I was treated very well. I was treated as an individual and the administrative and medical staff took time to address my concerns, were very compassionate and competent. My privacy was respected as well and things went smoothly. I never felt rushed and my physical and emotional comfort were a priority to the caregivers. I would highly recommend this facility for medical needs. Every person I came in contact with was EXCELLENT!
