Put on a clean shirt and comb your hair. We expected slightly dusty, neighborhood casual. Instead the Purple Room felt like we were treating ourselves to a special event. There are lots of staff, all respectful and professional, the food was good, freshly prepared and nicely presented. We were there for happy hour on a Wednesday. Get there at 4 if you want to be sure of a seat. The cocktails were very good and the bartenders fun to watch. A pianist played delightfully and the room is perfectly suited to conversation and comradery.

If you like great jazz music and great food and drinks in a place that has an amazing history and classy but casual ambiance, this is the place to go in Palm Springs! We have been to the Purple Room for Happy Hour drinks and piano music duand jazz shows on weeknights, and theet, Club music shows on the weekends, also. We have always been amazed with their great service, yummy drinks (especially at Happy Hour prices!!), and the fantastic and well presented food. Unlike most other dinner clubs that we have been to in the past, the Purple Room has a lot of great menu choices (even for us vegetarians…), and the food is always consistently great. We have never been disappointed! Be sure to make your reservation for the weekend shows well in advance, because they sell out quickly. Even on weeknights, the restaurant area is often completely full by showtime. Also, the earlier that you make your reservation, the better seating that you will get, closer to the stage. Another pointer…. Arrive before 6 PM, if you have dinner reservations, to get a drink or two at Happy Hour prices! It’s a little gem on the South Side of Palm Springs with a “Rat Pack” history that makes it special. Just don’t miss out on visiting here!

Honestly this place just rules- it is such a fun encapsulation of some of the vibe Palm Springs is famous for. You get the classic jazz supper club vibe, combined with really attentive and friendly service, tasty traditional dishes and great cocktails. Overall it’s just a really enjoyable atmosphere to hang out in, whether from a back booth ducking in to catch a slice of the show or from a table up front close to the stage. This is sort of the antithesis of the modern hype Instagram-driven spots like the hotel next door; that is why it is great.

Old school supper club, owner Michael was so nice and told amazing stories of Sinatra. Great drinks, delicious food, and awesome atmosphere. Felt transported if only for a few hours. Can’t wait to go back and wish we had something like this at home.

You do not have to order dinner if you are in the bar area. Go for Happy Hour.
Yes. They may not sit at the bar, and there is no children's menu.
