Always a favorite. The perch keep the kids poles hitting so they have fun. Husband's don't appreciate it as much haha.

Good one night stay. Showed up at 5:30pm and was able to drive through the campsite, pick one out, and call to reserve from posted info upon entering the park. Vault toilets.

Water has gotten low since last time I was here. Which was many moons ago. But the place is still clean and the mountain air is refreshing. Great place to come to get some time to yourself.

Dates of stay: 5/18-5/21 and 5/26-5/29 2020.Very nice park! Stayed on west side on first trip and stayed on east side (main campground) on the second. $22 per night reservation only camping fee plus $9/day entrance fee when you get there. Fishing was excellent on both trips (4 day limit on trout was easy to achieve). West side sites have bear boxes, picnic tables, and ground-level fire pits, and trash receptacles at the vault toilets. East side similar but with potable water available in campground (two places), a horseshoe pit, two dumpsters, and no bear boxes. Two tent sites on west side were park and walk in sites. Vault toilets were very nice. The men's vault toilets have urinals (which is awesome). Nice hiking trail all the way around the lake. Cell service was good. Was breezy-to-windy about mid-morning to late evening (7 pm) on most days. Dirt road spanning the damn is dusty with vehicle traffic. Unfortunate to see, but there was a moderate amount of trash along shoreline...beer cans, water bottles, fishing line/trash,...filled up 3 Walmart-like bags with a full trip around lake...way too much in my opinion. Fire ban went into effect 29 May.

No not in park but up the road pass transfer campground there is miles of free dispensed camping
No necessarily but I know early in the mornings there's a park ranger that drives by all the campsites. Hope that helps!!
Boats are allowed after an invasive species inspection. All boats are required to run "no-wake", and canoes, rowboats, paddleboards, and multi-chamber inflatable are allowed. There is no swimming allowed.
I have heard four different kinds of baying: someone nearby has hounds with that baying howl; the husky sledfarm has many talkers; there are definitely the yaps and howls of coyotes; and then occasionally the nearby donkeys get everyone wound up.
There are no hookups at all. There is a dump but no water for flushing or filling your tanks. Potable water is available elsewhere, but it's not at all convenient. Our travel trailer is 21' and we were ok, but I wouldn't try with anything bigger. The lake is VERY low. The boat ramp ends 100 yds or so from the water. We didn't even put in our kayak. We were getting a lot of smoke from the wildfires too.
Yes pets are welcome.. seen a few with their owners on our last visit..👍👍
The water level was good when we went a week ago. Fishing was pretty good. My husband caught a rainbow trout and a perch during 2 afternoons of fishing. They have 2 yurts for rent but I didn't see any cabins.
We got there really late at night...like midnight and there were some people in our spot so we just slept in our camper in one of the little parking areas, and the next morning they packed up and vacated for us (as they thought it was first come first serve if the spots didn't have a reserved sticker on it?) That's what they claimed anyway, but it was all good and we got set up and loved spending 3 nights there!
