My expectations of the whole car buying experience have now been completely upgraded thanks to Chris Wasz and his team here at Southern States Automotive Mazda. He treated my husband and myself as though we were old friends from beginning to end. Never pushy, just happy to accommodate in case we wanted to buy. I have been so happy with my 2022 Mazda CX-5 Turbo and feel like a million bucks every time I get in the driver's seat!

We purchased our new Mazda 3 at Southern States a few months ago and the experience was very good. I've always changed my own oil and filter for over 50 years. However, at my current age I decided it might be time to pay others for this. I attempted to schedule our first oil change using their online service when it was due. I asked in the comment box to be informed of the price and to verify that full synthetic oil would be used. Never got an answer despite several text and email reminders of the upcoming appointment. I finally called and asked why my questions weren't answered. I was told, "we don't do that." So, I asked directly for the price and was told $70 plus tax. After considering the lousy communications and a cost that, while affordable, it just wasn't worth the 90 minutes of driving time needed to get to the dealer and back home. Also, I anticipated a long wait while there due to other Google reviews. So, after 30 minutes, my oil is changed by myself for a total cost of $32 using Mobil 1 full synthetic and a quality filter. In the end, $38 and at least two hours saved. I'm very unimpressed with Southern States Mazda Service. Sales experience was good though.

A bought my Mazda brand new July 2021. Very happy with sales and salesperson Invested in the service plan as it was a great option for oil changes etc since it is synthetic oil. This is the second time having the service of oil change and tire rotation since purchasing. Both appointments have had a 1 1/2 to 2 hour waits. I questioned why so long for simple service? Response was we are short staffed and have other appointments. However when you schedule your appointment it is in 20 minute increments, which leads you to believe should take that to perform said service. This is not good customer service for those that invest in this program at the sale of the vehicle. DONT BUY THIS SERVICE UPON PURCHASE. Be prepared to wait endlessly and make no other appointments for the day.

We began searching for a new SUV 2 months ago and reached out to all 3 Mazda dealers in the area. They all responded and we felt no pressure from any of them, definitely not what we're use to. However, Southern States was the only dealer that had a new Mazda CX-9 for us to test drive. They're very hard to find unless you speak to the right dealer apparently. Southern States was that dealer. They always had inventory when others did not. We had to delay our purchase by a couple months, but Shannon and Patrick (sales manager) were very understanding and patient with the unexpected delay. They kept checking in on occasion but I never felt like I was being pressured or nagged, they were simply keeping the contact going, whereas the other dealers didn't really do that. Two weeks before we planned on purchasing, I texted the sales manager Patrick exactly what we wanted. Within a day, he's sending me specs for the exact vehicle we requested and said it was arriving within a few days. So that weekend we got to see what would become our new CX-9, fresh off the truck and still covered in protective plastic. They worked with us, we put down a small deposit, and they held the vehicle for 2 weeks until our funds were available. 2 weeks!!! Now this may not seem like a big deal, but when cars are selling the same day they arrive, especially the CX-9 as we came to learn, I know they could have easily sold that right away. Yet they held it for us knowing we were good for our word and serious buyers. So yesterday we finally purchased our car. It was by far the easiest car buying experience and again, we never felt any pressure whatsoever. We haggled for 5 mins before agreeing on a cost that would work with our budget, we signed the paperwork easily and then we were given a thorough walk-thru of all the cool features of the car. They even helped us get our phones connected and showed us how to use the app. We left knowing so much more than our research and previous test driving experiences had taught us. Thank you to Shannon (our salesman), Patrick (sales manager), and Shaleace (our walk-through/setup rep) for making this such a great experience. We'll definitely be recommending Southern States Mazda to everyone.
