Unfortunately the service isn't very good at all. The phones shut down early every day, so making an appointment if you work is a nightmare. Trying to talk to anyone takes a minimum of 20 minutes of hold time and option choices. And the worst part is if your primary care is in the area you cannot just call, it has to be routed through Manchester and they choose if your reason is good enough. It all has to go through the Manchester Hospital. When you actually get an appointment it's set out months later and you can expect to sit waiting for a minimum of 1-6 hours for you to be seen. So when you live an hour away and work it's just not an option. It's basically a nursing home for the retired that can afford the time. The insurance they use for referral is literally only there to make people hate life. The gov absolutely does not care about people that have served their country.

Most of the staff are fantastic, however the past year has been miserable. I injured myself in August and only just this past week have finally received a diagnosis after living in unbearable pain. Still no solution in sight, but finally a partial answer. My gripe is with the "patients advocate" office. I have called this office multiple times a day for 6 months. I have left a voicemail EVERY SINGLE DAY. Not once did I ever receive a call back or correspondence of any kind. The other day while there I walked into this office to find a woman sitting at her desk. Just wanted to make sure they were alive.

My husband had surgery on both knees and can't bend his knees. We asked for a wheel chair with leg support with leg supports. They don't have such a thing. Come on get with the program. I am truly frustrated for my husband. He can use a walker which helps with keeping his legs stiff but he can only do that for a shirt period of time.

The Manchester VA Medical Center must have several unique identifiers across Google. Google keeps asking me to review the place with a slightly modified name. The Manchester VA Medical Center is the center of New Hampshire affairs directed by the US Department of Federal Affairs. It's a hospital, clinic, rest home and more. An emergency room has been or is being added. This is the number one resource of veterans within the state.

Contact the Department of Veteran Affairs in Manchester. They probably no longer have record of the test at the hospital, but may have the results attached to your VA file at the archives.
Let your primary care Dr know they'll have one brought to your home to keep
There is a shelter. Contact VA Supportive Housing for a referral. You should also call Harbor Homes in Nashua- they have a program for homeless veterans.
Yes
Sign up online to Healthevet. Everything is there, including your medical record. There are two levels of this website. The most useful is the Premium level. To get Premium, you must appear in person at the VA hospital at the Healthevet office. It's called something else but easy to find. You sign a consent there and they verify that you're really you. It's a useful site.
It depends. If your prescription is a VA prescription then, yes, you can have them filled at the VA. However, if you have prescriptions from civilian doctors, then you would need to have the prescriptions rewritten by VA doctors to have them filled unless you were sent to community based care. It's convoluted, but it's the way that the VA keeps costs down.

Depends on your financial situation and service connected disabilities
Just call ahead
Hi. May I suggest you call the VA. You served during the Vietnam War era. I think it would be imperative and wise to contact your local VA.
When more vaccines become available, we plan to offer a free COVID-19 vaccine to all Veterans receiving VA health care who want one. Your team will contact you when a vaccine is available to you. If you decide to get the vaccine, your team will help you schedule your appointments.
If you have a disability rating of 20% or more, your spouse maybe entitled to TRICARE or CHAMPVA. Contact your local VA eligibility department to find out more.
Who was the Veteran? Were they insured VSGLI? Do you have copies of dd214? There are all kinds of things to consider? Burial benefits etc. Start by collecting all your documents. Then do a web search for each benefits. Burial, survivors, etc . If you reach out to the VA by phone they may guide you. I would reach out to American Legion, DAV, VFW. And there are Veteran adjutant in the state house that should be able to help. I am no expert but have had some experience in pointing people to who can help. There are groups on Facebook as well if you post a question they will answer it. Be aware of the advise on line.
for the drive up flu shots it's in the back of the building. Where the Seacoast parking is a set of parking air follow that path all the way to the back you'll come by the maintenance Bay and I believe it's every Friday the people will be out there administering the flu shot you just need your VA card and driver's license or two other forms of ID to identify yourselves
Don't know, usually they send out a reminder when the dates are finalized
It's not a hospital. NH is the only State without a VA hospital. It's a medical center with an urgent care facility that is nowhere close to a real emergency room
Yes. You don't have to use their health Care. I use some (prescriptions for instance) but have private insurance for everything else. Go in to eligibility and they will rate you.
Call the Manchester VA and ask for the patient advocate. They'll connect you.
I think there is limited at this facility, but there is excellent rehab at their other facilities.
Wanted to know how to get approval for surgery
Yes. Dental is available at the VAMC Manchester. However it is not available to everyone. You need to check your category.
