Good place for family events and skating, at night it gets real sketchy though.

I didn't see any bathrooms . Kid's we're having baseball practice and a parent took her son to pee around the tennis court.

This park has a nice tennis court, playground, large open grassy area, and this is a great place to park for getting on the paved Utah and Salt Lake Canal Trail. I roller skated on the trail, going East, and found an almost half pipe section to practice on that was across from a field of horses. (Pictured) Beautiful park and path!

Questions & Answers

Do we have to call & reserve the park of we wanted to use it?

The pavilion is always just open, and usually filled during weekends, but there are scattered benches which have their own grill but they aren't as good for big gatherings unless you bring your own stuff cause its 1 single table but since the field is so big you could setup whatever you want. I'm sure if a huge group already packed in they usually put stuff down to designate which area they using, and often space for more if you look or ask for a spot. Hunter Park has a pavilion and bathrooms as well, same with Fitness Center...so if you cant get a spot just check down the street.

Do we have to call to reserve the park

Yes you need to call the West Valley Recreation Center or go in person and fill out a form. Otherwise if it's not reserved it's on a first come first serve basis. You just won't have access to power.
