Not for experienced paddlers. Equipment sub-par and river busy . River was low, but scenic and flow decent. Packed with hundreds of tubing patrons. Went on a Sunday. Cook Forest beautiful.

Had such an amazing time, the river and view on this float is amazing.. it even rained on us and we didn’t care because we had so much fun. We did tubing, $15 for a single tube , $28 for a double. I feel that they could maybe us upgrading on their facility though.

We had a great time tubing with Pale whale! All of the employees were super helpful and nice. We did the 4 mile float and it was great! Just wear plenty of sunscreen!

So glad we found this place instead of Cook Forest Canoe Rentals. Pale Whale is on River Rd., a single turn off of the main drag (Rt 36). It’s not far at all but we overlooked it in the past because the other place is right on Rt 36. Pale Whale is way (WAY!) better than Cook Forest Canoe Rentals!! There is more parking, the equipment is much nicer/newer/better maintained, the transport vehicles are nice vans instead of ramshackle broken down school buses, and there is a little food stand right on site. Bonus: restrooms are clean and the staff is more than friendly and helpful. Pricing is comparable - might even be a little less. Plus they will transport you and your own equipment (ex: kayaks) upriver for 1/2 the full price. Then they pull your kayak out for you and carry it to the parking lot. Can’t say enough good about our experience!

Prices are the same as last season. The 4-mile canoe with 2 people is $30 and the 10-mile canoe is $42 - tax included already. If the river height is good, you can add a third adult for an extra $15. Kids 12 and under are free. River conditions always dictate how many extra people can be in a single canoe.
