We were so lucky to have Kahootz play at our wedding reception this spring. They had the dance floor packed all night (even my grandmother was on the dance floor!), and guests have continued to tell us how awesome the dance party was. We appreciated not having to pick out a specific playlist and only having to provide high level preferences to Chris. The rest was left up to the incredibly talented band! They were responsive, accommodating, and wonderful to work with. We would 1000% recommend Kahootz to anyone looking for a fantastic wedding band.

We had the unbelievable pleasure of working with The Kahootz Band for our wedding. Chris is the best; anything I threw at him was met with no issue. Randy did a beautiful job on the piano; playing our favorite songs as everyone filed in and walked down the aisle. We also had the jazz trio playing lovely mood music during cocktail hour. The band was incredible! So much fun! We love a lot of different types of music, lots of 70s, 80s and 90s. Guests could not get over how good they were. They would come into the crowd and sing and get everyone going. I had the absolute best time at my wedding!

K2 is a must have for your wedding! We cannot say enough amazing things about this band, and neither could our guests. They were so in tune with the energy of our guests which kept them playing the best music all night. We met with Chris before the wedding and he was so helpful in formulating our timeline with the dances and understanding what we were looking for (which was a big dance party all night). Everything we shared with Chris was perfectly executed by the band on the wedding day. K2 truly made our wedding the best time and our guests are still talking about how unbelievable they were. We HIGHLY recommend K2!

We hired K2 for our wedding at the Cruiseport in November 2021 and couldn't be happier! All of the members of K2 were professional, energetic and kept people on the dance floor all night long. They curated the set list perfectly based on our suggested vision. We had so many compliments from the guests and friends are now planning to use them at their wedding in the future! We would highly recommend Kahootz Entertainment, specifically K2, to friends and family!

Questions & Answers

How long does a band play at a wedding

Wedding venues usually give clients 5 hours for their celebration - 1 hour for the cocktail hour and 4 hours for the dinner reception. In the 4+ hours the band plays, the musicians typically take two breaks. We help facilitate formalities at the start of the reception and throughout dinner such as introducing the wedding party, announcing speeches & performing during formal dances. We play dinner music up until either your dinner course is served or when the food stations have started to subside. We’re off the bandstand for 25 minutes for the 1st break and will put a background mix of music through the PA system so the room maintains a warm ambience. The 2nd break happens about an hour before the end of the night. It’s a run to bathroom, grab a glass of water, get our butt’s back to the bandstand break we keep under ten minutes. We make a client inspired custom mix to play by track for the second short break. Our #1 priority is your party. This is why we keep the breaks minimal.

All of our bands can provide music for your cocktail hour in addition to music for the party portion of your reception. Most couples prefer soothing classical, contemporary, or jazz instrumental instrumental music that helps set the mood and won’t distract from your guests’ conversation and mingling. We offer four different cocktail music options: - Solo Keyboards (most popular) - Keyboard and Bass Duo - Trio of Keyboards, Bass, and Drums or - Trio of Keyboards, Bass, and Saxophone
Let us know what you have in mind. We’ll work with you to create a custom option if that’s what you prefer.

How do you choose which songs to play at the wedding reception?

Kahootz Entertainment Boston Wedding Bands | Sep 30, 2021
Kahootz Entertainment Boston Wedding Bands | Sep 30, 2021

It all starts with our clients and getting to know their musical tastes (and dislikes) so we can create a plan that will have you and your guests on their feet all night. That’s why we meet one-on-one with couples to learn their favorite performers and songs as well as those songs that you would never want to hear played at your wedding. We like to have a conversation to learn about your musical sensibilities and tastes so we can use your preferences along with our expertise to create a party atmosphere that celebrates your union and the joy you want to share with your guests. We’re also able to learn up to two new songs that have meaning to you and that you want performed at your reception.
