We had a party of 12 people for my mother's birthday. We were seated in our own section upstairs. We arrived at 7:12 pm. This was some of the slowest and inconsistent service I've ever experienced in a restaurant. First the server asked if we would like drinks and we ordered a few drinks. Wine portions are tiny. I don't think a glass of wine is even 6 oz there. Our appetizers arrived 20 minutes later and were very good. The sauce for the stuffed banana peppers was like a good gravy that you can put on anything. Problem with this place is you feel like you're pulling teeth when you ask for things. We were given one basket of bread for 12 people. So you mean to tell me that for a check that could potentially be close to $1200 you would really hold back on $3 loaves of bread. Had to ask for another basket of bread. Had to wait almost an hour and a half before we even had refills on water. Now to the entrees. Remember we arrived at approximately 7pm. Our entrees didn't arrive until almost 1030. I had the 24 oz ribeye which was better than some of the prime steakhouses in the city. Very impressed. But this was beyond a horrible experience. I don't mind spending the money for exceptional food and service. But when I want fine Italian food I expect different standards. We were very disappointed but just didn't get too vocal because it was my mother's birthday. It's a week later and I still haven't decided if I will return there. Only good thing I can say is the chef is very good here.

Wonderful service and attention to detail. Delicious cocktails, fabulous foods and delectable desserts. If you have an event to celebrate in Pittsburgh, this restaurant should be on your short list

My husband and I shared a perfect evening at this romantic restaurant. The staff was upbeat and friendly but not too in your face. They seemed happy to be there which was contagious. Most impressive was the prompt service and amazing food - especially on a busy Saturday night. The shrimp and scallops over angel hair was divine and who knew broccoli could taste so good! Oh, must mention the butterscotch pound cake! We will definitely return.

Best restaurant I've been in the US. Great steak, soup, pasta sauce, salad.... Also great white beans entree (recommended by the restaurant - it's really good).
